It was with great sadness that we heard of George’s death. My wife and I had great fondness for George when talking with him at church, and he will be greatly missed. It would had been nice to have chatted with you both, but due to several appointments Tuesday morning, I will not be able to attend the service.
Please accept our sympathy

George will be missed by all, a great guy, we have a lot of fond memories of many fun times with the RCASC gang. Our thoughts are with you.

Dear Mrs. Newton and Family,
I was sorry to read about George’s passing. I knew him from the Day Hospital and the golf program in which he eagerly participated. He was so friendly to everyone and was always concerned how everyone else was, never focused on his own ailments. It was a pleasure to have known him. We will truly miss him.
Sincerely,
Bev Regan
It’s been a pleasure to have George in my exercise class at Parkwood for the past 6+ years. True to the tribute at his funeral, George went out of way to find out about my family, talk hockey (and their inflated saleries) or baseball. Never in my life have I ever met such a genuine person. I looked forward to our trips to the putting green until he was no longer able to walk the distance. I was not surprised to find out leading up to his surgery he was thinking of my family and the arrival of our second child. In short I wanted to let you know how missed George will be at Parkwood. He will be fondly remembered. Bill
I was fortunate enough to meet Uncle George and Aunt Bernice over the last Christmas holidays, for the first time in close to a decade (maybe more). It was a short visit, but it was such a blessing to all of us who went there. George seemed in excellent health for his age, particularly with his unforgettable wit, memory, and kindness. I have very fond memories of him during my childhood as well. I believe I owe my first taste of sherry to him and my Grandfather, his brother, Orville Newton, as well as owing numerous other priceless experiences. I will truly miss his warmth and character, and I give my heartfelt condolences to all his loved ones.
