Obituary
McCOY — William Albert McCoy of London. On Saturday June 25th 2005 at University Hospital, peacefully and surrounded by his loving family, Bill lost his long battle with COPD. He was adored by his wife, Mary Ellen, who will miss him more than words can say. He was a devoted son of Elizabeth and Albert (deceased) McCoy, brother of Arthur (Alice) McCoy, and a dearest father to Laura (Charlie) Clement, Thomas (Jody) and Robert (Marie) and a very happy Grandpa to Alexa Rae and Jaden Laya. Bill retired from London Life Insurance Company in 1990 where many lifelong friendships were made. Throughout his life, he excelled in many sports. His love of sports and his alma mater, Michigan State University, were high points in his life along with meeting his wife who also attended M.S.U. He was one of the best fathers a child could ask for and supported his children in whatever endeavors and interests they had. Coaching teams or moral support. It was all there. We will all miss you. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Tuesday at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London (433-5184) where the funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Wednesday June 29th at 11 A.M. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations would be appreciated to the Lung Association, 480 Egerton Street, London N5W 3Z6. On line condolences accepted at www.amgeorgefh.on.ca

Dear Aunt Mary Ellen, Laura, Tom and Rob, I was so very saddened to hear of the passing away of Uncle Bill on Saturday. You have all been such dear and wonderful friends for as long as I can remember. Indeed one of my very first memories of my life is knocking at the door of Bill and Mary Ellen’s home just after they moved in as our next door neighbours. I was maybe 4 years old. Bill meant so very much to me as a dear and supportive friend and mentor of myself and my family. He will be remembered always for his smile and his kindnesses.
Mary Ellen:- Please accept our deepest sympathy. It was a shock to learn of Bills’ death. He was a wonderful person and I had the up most respect for him as an individual. I certainly respected his outstanding ability not only as a business person but as an exceptional athlete.
He will be missed by his former business associates and friends.
