RUMBOLD……
Suddenly as the result of a car accident on Wednesday, March 23, 2005. Alexander Alex” Rumbold of London in his 17th year. Beloved son of Rita Rumbold and the late Allan Rumbold. Dear brother of Sandra Rumbold. Dear grandson of Del and Hazel Rumbold and the late Valdis and Skaidrite Jurjans. Also loved by his aunts”
Dear Mrs. Rumbold,
I’m not sure if you remember me, but I am Thomas Ouellette. I was Alex’s friend before I moved away a couple of years ago. I am very sad to hear about Alex and his father. Alex was a great friend. I remember all the things we did, playing on the beach up at the cottage, going for long bike rides around Old South, or just spending time with each other. I got to know him pretty well during those years, and though he was shy, he was a great and true friend, and that’s how I’ll remember him. He and his dad loved each other very much. I remember him teaching Alex how to use the boat, or taking us out to the dunes just to play and enjoy ourselves.

Even though I didn’t know Alex, he was still apart of me everyday.I saw him in the hallways everyday, I sat in the cafeteria with him, well not at the same table but I was in his presents.Without him there, it seems life isn’t there.Alex meant alot to South as so did he with his family.I give all my wishes to the Rumbold family, and I want you to know your not alone in this, all of South’s Lions will be grieving while you do. I only wish I had said hi to him more than just the times in the hallway, I wish I had that chance to at least get to know him.You will always be in my heart, now and forever, I love you Alex R.I.P.

Rita & Sandra,
There are no words that can even begin to ease your heartache. We are unable to even imagine the depth of your sorrow, losing both Alex and Allan.
Our hearts share in your loss as we fondly remember Alex.
We have been sharing our memories of Alex these past few days. My memories go way back to public school days. Alex was just a young boy then. I remember Alex coming to Mustang Press with his wonderful stories. They were so elaborate and full of such detail you could hardly fit everything Alex wanted to express on one page! He was very serious when working on his book; and so proud and happy when it was completed to his satisfaction. With his blonde hair and glasses, and his gentle nature, Alex always held a special place in my heart.
In time, may you both find comfort in all of the wonderful memories you’ve made with Alex & Allan.
Please drop in anytime and share your memories over a warm cup of tea, the kettle is always on.
With Love,
Jackie & Jonny Blanchard (& family)

Dear Rita and Sandra
You do not know me, but I knew Alex. He was a great kid. He always had a smile everytime I saw him. He was a pleasure to be around. Being around him was great. He always brought life to the conversation. His artistic abilities were wonderful. When I had heard Mrs.Sonier on the announcements say that Alex and his father had passed in a car accident. I could not beleive it. My jaw dropped. I looked around the class and everyone else was the same. Around south, everybody knew eachother. And Alex was no different. I had told my parents and sister about the events that had happened. And my sister almost felt like crying, since she knew alot of people from South. She does not know exactly if she knew him. But still. I will be attending the Memorial at South tommorow after school to pay Respect to Alex and his father. My thoughts are with Sandra and yourself. It is not easy losing a loved one. In this case. Loved ones. Please remember that I am here. And that I hope Sandra and yourself live a wonderful life, and cherish the moments you had with Alex and his father.
Again, my thoughts are with you.
