My Dear Marie,
I am so sorry for your loss. I regret tremendously that I cannot be with you. I’ve been ordered to bed rest at this time so I can only send you on-line condolences.
Please know I am so saddened at the loss of your wonderful Dad, who was a father-figure to me, and, in fact, was just 5 years older than my wonderful Dad. I’ve always cherished your father for being the person who gave me my first flying lesson and changed my life forever.
I have so many memories, such as: your Dad coming to visit me 10 years ago at my apt condo. I was recovering from bilateral total hip replcements and your Dad was ambulating better than I… he with one cane, I with two! He brought a scrapbook, which we poured over and recalled many, many memories.
Last year, I very much wanted to get him to an Open House my local 99s chapter was hosting @ #427 Wing but his whole residence was under quarantine due to the SARS scare.
I know I’ll miss the opportunity to hear tributes and stories to which you’ll be privy at the visitations and services. I have had the priviledge of hearing of people, places and times as only a living treasure would know.
I’d love to get-together sometime so if you’d like to contact me, my address is #1004-45 Pond Mills Rd., London, N5Z 4W5 and phone number is 680-0357.
I extend my condolences to you and your whole famly for the loss but gratitude for the gift of you Dad.
