To the Black family:
My husband and I had the privlege of getting to know Bill this past summer, when he sponsored the ball team that my son, Brennan played for. My husband, Kris, was also the coach. We were so touched by Bill’s generosity and support of both the team and the boys. Bill was always the first one to arrive to the games (we never did beat him to a game, even though we tried!!), and we could tell how much he enjoyed to see the boys play ball. Thankfully the team had a very successful season, and thanks to Bill, the boys, as well as their parents, learned so much about kindness and generosity from Bill. We were very touched that Bill took the time to come out and support the team, even when it wasn’t the best of weather, or when he wasn’t feeling so great.
When I told my son about Bill’s passing he was so upset, it was only a week or so ago that he and his dad had visited Bill at the hospital, and we were all very shocked to hear of his passing so soon. We would like to express our deepest sympathy to your family at this time. We were honoured to know Bill.
Sincerely,
Dawn, Kris, and Brennan Hepburn

Your battle is over and you have earned this rest. No more pain, no more surgeries, no more fighting an unrelenting foe. I’m sure Aunt Mary Ann was there to greet you and you’ve found peace once again in her arms.
I had hoped to share in the celebration of your life and your accomplishments but as much as the spirit was willing the body had different ideas. I hope you felt my presence during your send off.
While I shed tears over the loss of our friendship, I would rather that than have your pain continue.
I love you Uncle Bill and I’ll miss you. Be at peace.
