GOWERS:
At St. Joseph’s Hospital, London on Thursday, February 26, 2004. Irene Janet (Harris) Gowers of London in her 85th year. Beloved wife of the late Arthur Wilfred Gowers. Dear mother of Alec Lockyer and his wife Janet of St Marys, Marie Fall of London, Diane Sage of Hamilton, Debbie Hamilton of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and Melvina Smith and her husband David of London. Dear sister of Heman Harris of Florida and Mabel Crawford of Hamilton. Predeceased by her brothers Raymond, John and Cecil Harris, her sister Melita Gray and 2 grandchildren. Also loved by her 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received by the family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London where the funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Monday, March 1st at 11:00 a.m. with Majors Larry and Marilyn Bridger officiating. Cremation with interment of cremated remains in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army, Hillcrest Corps.Building Fund, 310 Vesta Road, London ON, N5Y 5J1 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, 617 Wellington Street, London, ON N6A 3R6 (on line condolences accepted at www.amgeorgefh.on.ca)

Melvina, & family I only new your mom for a short time but it was a wondertime Thank you for letting me enjoy such a wonderful women like your mother . I first met your mom with Uncle Heman we had a wonderful talk at her apt. She told me about her & thunderstorms, by the way her & I feel the same way about them but my closet isn’t big enough. Please let God be with you at this time as he is with your Mom. And again Thank you for letting me enjoy a small part of her life. I will cherish it always.
