Canon R. Charles Brown baptised me at Canon Davis Memorial Church in Sarnia, Ontario shortly after he became a minister. He was a personal friend of my grandparents (Elizabeth & Alexander Forbes and my parents). I sent him birthday greetings on his 90th birthday and received a lovely hand written letter back. He was a lovely person and I am sure he will leave a void in your family.
Brother Canon Charles was an inspiration to me as a young Mason and I particularily enjoyed his outlook on life.
As a friend of the Brown family of Sarnia please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.

To the Family of Canon R. Charles Brown
From Ontario Lodge 521, our deepest sympathies go out to you in your time of loss. I am told that Mr Brown was a member of our Lodge back in the 40’s, Bro Bob Miller contacted me to inform me of his passing. A moment of silence was observed at our Feb 2/04 meeting in rememberance.
Sincerely;

Dear Michael, Kate, Emily, Wesley and Madison,
Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you as you are filled with sadness over the loss of a very special father and grandfather. We did not have the pleasure of meeting Rev. Canon Brown in person, but heard many stories about him over the years as we learned more about your family. We know he was very special to you and that you loved him very much.
with love, Christa Wessel and Russ Cheeseman, and James, Eliott and Lucas
Dear Kathryn and Michael:
Memories are what we hold near and dear – your Dad conducting a wedding rehearsal and taking the ring off his little finger to explain the continuity of the gold band in a relationship – his rich, deep and melodious speaking and singing voice – a beautiful roast beef dinner in the rectory at St. Mary’s, table set with with the finest linen and tableware, wonderful conversation, formal serving with Michael and Dad at the one end of the table, Kathryn, Mom and Grandma at the other, passing the full plates along – Grandma Struckett’s wonderful English Trifle – Michael in the Boy’s Choir and Kathryn in the Girl’s Choir. What a wonderful life your Dad lived! Please accept our sincere condolences. We hope to see you at the 100th Anniversary Celebration weekend at St. Mary’s Walkerville on Easter Weekend 2004. Best regards from
Wayne and Doreen Cornwall
Dear Kathryn and Michael,
Although it has been nearly 30 years since we last saw each another, I wanted to extend my deepest sympathy to you both with the loss of your wonderful father.
I grew up across the street from you and we attended school together. My parents and I admired your family so much. It was such a loss when you left Windsor. Your father and mother brought dignity and refinement to the church and community that was irreplacable.
I remember when your dad ceremoniously planted that tiny maple in the front yard of the church, across from my house. It has now grown into a large and majestic tree that looks especially beautiful in the summer. The leaves are a very dark green and the branches spread out to form a huge umbrella.
I had planned on going to the service, celebrating your father’s life, but unfortunately one of my children became ill and so I was unable to attend.
My thoughts were with you on that day and shall be in the coming weeks as you deal with this sad time in your lives.
Sincerely,
Alexandra Peterson
