I have fond memories of Fr. Les as he helped me to give retreats to the students of St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in North Bay. I was sorry to read his obituary in the Nugget. He was a man of faith who kept his focus on the Lord. May he rest in peace and may the family be filled with strength and blessings at this time.
Sincerely,
Sister Sheila Anne Spooner, csj
To Jennifer and your family.
Your Dad was a very special man.. one who made a great difference in my life in Christ and the world. I know he was a great teacher and will be missed by all of his students. Fr Les taught me that all christians no matter what their form of worship and praise maybe were love and were to be love by us. God Bless you all and my thought and prayers are with you.

To Yvonne and family; How sad to hear of Les’ death. I have many fond memories of him from Camp Manitou and the voyageur program. I always thought that Daddy had found a kindred spirit in Father Pete’s sense of humour. May God bless you all. Dorothy
We remember Bishop Les very fondly from when Tim was Rector of St Matthews Sault Ste Marie. Bishop Les was a very caring man who was always available to clergy and their families. He was a sensitive and compassionate man, and it was a pleasure to have known him. We pray for you, his family, in your time of grief, and hope you may receive comfort from the many he has comforted. Tim and Margie Delaney, Terrigal, Australia
Dear Yvonne and family
Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you struggle with Bishop Les’ unexpected death. Fond memories include the Bishop’s affirmation of my gifts for ministry, and the many heart-warming experiences with the native peoples of Algoma Diocese. Gods’ blessings always. Rosalie
Dear Yvonne, Shauna, Jen, Tom, Kathy and Jon:
You are all in my thoughts and prayers as you and your families try and grapple with Les’s departure from this physical world of ours. I feel very sorry I am so far away and can do so little.
I will miss his big smile and hearty laugh which warmed every room he entered. He was a very special person and he will be much missed.
Much love to you all,
Nancy
To The Peterson Family;

Many at St. James in Sudbury fondly remember not only visits by Bishop Les to our church family as Bishop, but especially his time spent with us during the 50th anniversary celebrations in 2000. He is missed and we are so grateful to God for his ministry in Algoma.
Dear Yvonne ; I am so sorry to hear of your loss of Les. I have many fond memories of the time he was rector here at Trinity. Les was a man who lived what he preached . Decency and caring were and inate part of his being . I hope that you will take comfort in knowing that he was so highly regarded and so well loved.
Sincerely , Ann Parrick
