GEORGE, Dave:
After a courageous battle with cancer, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2005, surrounded by family and friends. Born Robert David George in Windsor, he lived most of his life in Toronto, and the past five years in London. Dave is predeceased by his father, Joseph Brinley (1986); mother, Dorothy May (Evans) (1981); brother, Angus (1989); and sister, Edie Carlisle Michon (2005). Beloved father of Ken and daughter-in-law Kelly (Rice), of Toronto. Dear brother-in-law of James Michon of Richmond, Michigan. Loving uncle of Kathryn (Lake) Hogan and her husband Darryl of Windsor; Dave Lake of Toronto; Brian Michon and his wife Robin of Orland Park, Illinois; and Kevin Michon and his wife Kim of Royal Oak, Michigan. Lifelong friend of both Jim Wheeler of Windsor and Phyllis Smyth of Montreal. Great Unca Dave will also be dearly missed by his grandnephews, Samuel and Matthew Hogan. As so many friends in London and Toronto will cherish Dave’s memory, two memorial services will take place. In London, on Friday, December 2, 2005 at A. Chuck and I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to Dave’s family and friends. We knew Dave through MCC Church in London and dance socials. He was very friendly and a kind person. Enjoyed his conversations.
He will be missed.
I didn’t know Dave that well, but did enjoy a few social outings with him, and shared some good times over dinner and live theatre. I’m working today 3-11, so will be unable to attend the visitation or memorial, but will be thinking of him, and have posted it on my website http://LGD.homestead.com
Our condolences to Ken and all who know and loved David during his lifetime. Weather and other problems precluded being present at his memorial service but be assured our thoughts are with you.
Dear Ken, So sorry to hear about your Dad’s passing. I was out of town and missed the memorial service. Your Dad and I worked together for many years at Glen Ames. Betty and I remember many social gatherings with your Dad. We also remember meeting with him in England as his exchange year was ending and ours was beginning. He was a fantastic teacher and a great friend. He certainly will be missed.
