I wish to extend to the family the sincere condolences from all the members of the executive committee of the Scottish Rite in the Valley of Montreal. Lee was a role model for all of us and we will do our best to emulate him as we continue our work for the betterment of all.
I had the great privilege to know Lee for many years as a Masonic brother. During those years I can think of no more caring person. His passing is a loss to all and he will be missed.
My heart felt sympathies to the family.

Dear Lillian,
I was so sad to learn of Lee’s passing. My deepest sympathy to you and your family. He was an exceptional man in every sense of the word. Although we became acquainted over a relatively brief span of time, he had a positive impact on my life as he has had on so many others. Lee had an indomitable spirit and a great faith. He was an inspiration to us all and will be greatly missed.

Dear Lillian and the family:
Please accept my sincere condolences at Lee’s passing. I last saw him at the annual meeting of the Order of Scotland where, as usual, he seemed like a man who would live forever. I knew Lee since he led the Sunday school at Montreal West Presbyterian Church and worked with him on an off there. That was 45 years ago and even then he evidenced an unshakeable Christian faith, coupled with his indominatable humour. All this time Lee was a steadfast inspiration. He baptized my first grandchild at Ephraim Scott.
His passing seems like the end of an era for me too and it is hard to fathom what can fill the void he leaves.
However, to everything there is a season and there is nothing in this world that is forever lasting. But it is wonderful that everthing and everyone returns to from whence they came and nothing is ever really lost nor taken away.
May you be comforted and may peace be with you all.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
In memory of dear Poppy.
All our love.

I’m so sorry to hear about Rev. Donahue. He was such a great friend to my dad, WR (Bill) Bell when they were together at Air Canada and afterwards. When Dad passed away in 1994, it was such a comfort to have Lee there to remember Dad and conduct the service.
The trips to Barbadoes which Lee, Mimi, and my parents took were always relaxing and fun filled, especially the snorkelling Lee and Dad did!
He was a great friend. He will be sadly missed. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you.
