We are very sorry to hear of Scott’s passing. My mom, Marka wanted you all to know that she will never forget Scott’s care and concern for her husband Sam at a time when Scott was battling his own illness. Scott was always in her prayers and we thought of him often and hoped for his recovery. He was a good neighbour and had a smile for everyone when we saw him on his walks.God bless you all at this difficult time.

Dear Marian and all the children,
I will always remember Scott popping out unexpectedly in the early morning to run with me. We would talk and laugh and sometimes I’d be out of breath because even though he was ill, he was in better shape than I was! I’ll remember how he always said what he thought and his pragmatism and strength in the face of all things. Scott loved his wife deeply and took great pride in all of his children and their many accomplishments. Scott knew how to listen; he understood what it meant to be a friend. Brave, funny, creative, stubborn; there will never be anyone else like him.
He is fondly remembered by all the Hoffords, no longer in London but there with the Butternut Bunch in spirit at this difficult time.

Dear Marian
I remember first meeting Ubbo. We were 13. And he had this soulful presence, a certain light about him. Unlike anyone I had ever met. We became lifelong close friends. Always there to provide guidance, for matters both spirtual and earth-bound, words well measured, caring. During these last number of years his strength of mind and spirit would push his illness away. Never fearing death but always embracing life. His love for you and his 6 sons radiated. It has been both a blessing and privlege to have known this gentle and kind soul. He has left behind a world much richer for his brief stay. Ubbo goes now with God’s grace.
With Love

My sympathy goes out to all of you. Scott was a wonderful person, whom I knew through the office of Dr. Ken Hebel. I spoke with you by phone,to arrange appointments for Scott over the years. The last time I spoke with Scott at the office he reassured me and left me with such a sense of peace. He also thanked me for being kind and always professional towards him!! He will truly be missed. May God be with you.
