I am extending condolences on behalf of all the staff at the Thames Valley Children’s Centre to Maureen’s family. Maureen was a valued member of this Centre for 18 years who left a lasting impression on all who came in contact with her. I’m sadden by the loss of my friend Maureen. I was taken aback when she called to let me know about Larry’s passing. I understand first hand the struggle she has had throughout the years.When I think of Maureen I think of all the good she had to give this life. She truly wanted the best for everyone. She really loved her family and friends. I believe she is in a better place and at peace. Her smile and laugh will be in my heart forever.Mr & Mrs. Ellis and the rest of Maureen’s family and friends, I’m sorry this happened. I always use the Serenity Pray to help me out, maybe it will help you.
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time, accepting hardships as the pathway to peace. I’m sorry I cannot be in Winnipeg on Thursday, but my thoughts and prayers will be. Take care of each other.

To Maureen’s family & friends, our deepest sympathies on behalf of Maureen’s co-workers/friends at TVCC and COPE, LU 468.
Maureen will be sadly missed by her friends at TVCC. Maureen was a quiet, laid back person at work. She valued her privacy as much as the friendships she enjoyed with her co-workers.
Maureen loved her work and took great pride in doing her job well. She showed great courage and tenacity when her health placed obstacles in her path. Her strong will and determination to continue no matter what has impacted all who knew her. I will always remember her for the strength she displayed in the face of adversity. The passage below captures a bit of the brave spirit she portrayed.
When you’re up against a trouble,
Meet it squarely, face to face;
Lift your chin and set your shoulders,
Plant your feet and take a brace.
When it’s vain to try to dodge it,
Do the best that you can do;
You may fail, but you may conquer;
Do the best that you can do.
We will miss Maureen and are deeply saddened at the news of her passing.

Please accept my sincere and deep sympathy. Maureen was a unique individual with a smile that was infectious. That’s how I will always remember her.
As I sit here and type this my thoughts go back to when we went to Junior High together and all the good times we shared–the lunches at her house and the trouble we used to get into(not bad though). I will forever remember her laugh, her smile, her understanding and the never having a bad word to say about anyone. My deepest sympathies to her family and friends 🙁
