I just wanted to let you both know how deeply sorry I am to hear about Michael. The strength and support that you both showed my family when my mom took ill was phenominal. Please let me return that greatly appreciated support for your family now.
I do know that Joanie is helping to look after her little Michael now. I love you both so much.

Dear Susan, Tracey, and Ruth,
My heartfelt sympathies are with you at this time. When Jim phoned me last night, I was so sad to hear that Michael had died. I had been praying for him since Ruth’s email just before Christmas. It’s very hard to lose someone that you love, but losing a child is so tragic. I will not be able to be there with you, but I will thinking of you all and remembering you and Michael in prayers. Love to everyone,

I new Mikey not as my friend, but as my brother. His family were just as accepting of me as he was. I will miss my best friend and brother, and the family has lost a son, brother, grandson, cousin… rock. He looks out for us all now, as he did so for me so much when he was here. Breath easy my friend, no more fighting left, you are free of pain, and you are the light that guides and drives me, just like always.
I love you Mikey

My deepest sympathy and support for your family during this time of loss. Mike worked with me at TD Visa and on many occassions we interacted at work. No matter what was discussed, Mike always presented himself with a witty sense of humour that always made me laugh. I also knew of his love for music, which was a common trait we shared once or twice. He will be missed at TD Visa by friends and colleagues alike.

I’m so sorry for your loss.
I know you’ll find peace knowing that he lived life to the fullest. His humor was unmistakable and loved. He helped me become addicted to Smallville and the Superman adventures. We talked anytime we saw each other about the fabulous TV show and the possible outcomes and scenarios.
Mikey was a social butterfly here at TD. Everyone loved him and his competitive spirit. We will miss him very much! God love.

Mikey was a wonderful person who added a special touch to our workplace for his sense of humour and dedication to excellence in his work. I have known Mikey for quite a while here at TD Visa as Mikey was one of the experienced agents who I shadowed with while in training. Mike was a remarkable spirit.
I would run into him in the TD cafeteria, pumping iron at the gym, at the mall with Eddie, out and about painting the town red, and receive random e-mails simply saying hello.
He was who he was, and for that we will always be grateful
Thank you Mike for gracing us with your beautiful presence

Mikey’s friendship will leave a lasting impression with us forever! We’ve never known anyone quite like him. He was one of kind! Loads of fun, strong, loving & compassionate are all words to describe Mike, did I mention loads of fun? The list could go on & on! We are so thankful to have had the opportunity to have him in our lives. His outlook on life has had such a positive impact on us, one thing we will take away from our friendship is to always live life to it’s fullest. Mike was so loved and we miss him!!!!

I was very sad to hear of Mike’s death. He certainly set a great example for people that have to live with this disease. I remember him from the few times I was in his company as enjoying himself and sharing his great sense of humour. He spoke fondly of the work he did, the friends he had and his cherished family. My heart goes out to his loved ones. He will be very much missed by all of us that were touched by him. Rest assured he will never be forgotten. I will remember him and his family in my prayers.

Hello Susan:
You don’t know me, but you have heard of me. I lead a Monday Night Bible Study Group here in London… And for the past year we have been praying for you and Michael.
Please accept my condolences and heart felt sympathy as you go through these very difficult times. Rest assurred that Michael is no longer having to fight for every breath, he is in a much better place now, so much better than anything that you or I could ever begin to understand. Words cannot express the joy, the peace, and the happiness that Michael is experiencing right now. And some day you will join him too.
I know that the time apart is going to be difficult, But I know too that you have friends – and some like me you haven’t even met yet – but you will – Lord Willing!
Please know that you are in my prayers!
Blessings through this most difficult time of your life! And also know this – there will be another day, and it will bring a smile to your face and JOY to your heart…
May God Bless you Richly, may He make His face to Shine upon you, and may He give to you His PEACE!
Blessings: Don

Mike was one of my best, dearest and oldest friends. He brought humour, light and perspective wherever he went. Mike made me laugh in the best and worst of times, and I can’t thank him enough for it. He made everything more tolerable!
I will always love Mike, and he will be missed so much.
Susan, Tracy and Matt; thank you for everything you have done for me, and for Mike. Your courage, support and understanding has been amazing, and please know that you will always be in my thoughts. I will always be here if you need me.

Mikey was someone we can’t describe in few words. His energy, intelligent humor, and GQ sense of style, made it impossible for anyone to miss him entering any room. In Mike’s life there were no strangers, he was so outgoing he managed to maintain quite a following of fans. While living with Mikey, he always kept Ed and I in check. If for fashion tips, a cup of java, or even an impromptu break dance lesson, Mikey was always willing to spend the time with us. Mikey was truly a fighter as he battled such a horrible disease one of which he never let get in the way of his passions. In our lives we will encounter many people that change our outlook on life, but no person will match how he did. Mikey, thanks for always looking out for us all, we miss you.
Susan, Tracy and family, we are all praying for you during this difficult time of sorrow.
Please accept my deepest condolences.

Dear Susan,
I am Linda, daughter of Doris Bufflap. We live in Wilmington, NC, and Mom and Hazel were best friends, and I knew Hazel and Jerry, also. I have known about Mike and have had him in my prayers. I, too, lost a son, my only child, to cancer in 2000. My sister-in-law sent me the following poem, and it gave me such comfort, so I am sending it to you in hopes it will help. The title of the poem said it all for me as my son battled cancer for 4 years. My condolences to you and your family.
I’m Free
Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free
I’m following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard him call;
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way;
I found that place at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared a laugh, a kiss;
Ah yes, these things, I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savored much;
Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.
Perhaps my time seems all to brief;
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.
~

Mikey, not sure you’ll ever know how truly special you are and it’s hard to picture the call centre without you. You were undeniably Mr. Personality but you were also so much more ……you played the hand that was dealt to you with absolute grace, never taking a second for granted. Of course, you also had the best sense of humour and I sure wish the world could have enjoyed it just a little while longer.
Mikey, you will be missed & cherished forever.

Dear Susan & family,
I want to take this time to tell you how sorry I am to hear of Michael’s passing. He will be missed. Unfortunately, I am several thousand kilometres away, but I would be there if I could. Technology has made things easier from a distance, but can not entirely replace the closeness of having family and friends around us in our time of need. I hope that having that closeness can help you all get through this time with the most strength, and the least amount of sorrow possible. God Bless.

I just want to say how truly sorry I am for your loss. Mike was an incredible person who will be greatly missed. I first became friends with Mike in high school and we lost touch through the years (although I did think about him and wonder what he was up to), but just over a year ago I ran into him and we’ve been friends ever since. Mike has made a huge impact on my life, I cared about him a great deal and I will miss him terribly.

Mike and I started together at Visa and later he reported to me. I certainly have always had a soft spot in my heart for Mike.
Although I’m not as close as others are to him, I feel especially saddened with the news of his death. My emotions seem more pure and I believe it is because of the lovely person that he is and the genuiness of his character. Two Christmas’ ago, I saw Mike at Masonville shopping and he asked me to go for a coffee and talk. Most people avoid others and your lucky sometimes to get a hi as they keep on walking. I think this is just the type of person he is ~ genuine, humourous, kind and very generous …and we can’t forget stubborn but you have to love him for it.
To the family: You are very lucky to have been related to such a kind spirit and lovely person ~ he loved little Lucas.
My sincerest condolences, Kaia

I knew Mike through my Son Ed.
Ed and Mike were very close friends and and I know my son hurts very deeply losing such a good Buddy who had so much of an influence on him. He was the best, most loyal friend Ed ever had. My other son Rick also knew Mike well and they both had a list of good mikey stories.
My wife Anne and I got to like this real nice guy in a very short time and enjoyed listening to the laughter they had together at our house sometimes.
The world is a little less bright without Mike and His Mom should be very proud that he grew up to be such a terrific and popular man.
God love you Mike, God love you so very much.

The way Mikey lived his life was absolutely inspiring. He had a way of making simple acquaintances feel as though they had a special bond or friendship. He was genuine and sweet. His sense of humour will be missed by all who knew him. I remember going out of my way to simply walk by his desk in hopes of hearing some crazy story or joke, or getting some advice on football picks for the coming weekend…
Mikey was absolutely special in every way. My thoughts & prayers are with his family.

Mike was one of the most genuine and honest individuals I have ever met.He was outgoing and incredibly funny with bags of charisma. People always wanted to be around him, hear his stories, laugh and joke with him. He was infectious and I can’t think of anyone that wasn’t touched by him. He was loyal to a fault and always put his friends and family first. There was a time when I needed Mike’s help and he was there for me.No questions asked.I shall never forget this.
I am warmed by the fact that I know Mike is looking down upon all of us, watching out for us and wishing he could share his latest stories.
Rest in peace my friend, I shall never forget you. Never.

It is with my greatest sadness that I send this to you today and my even greater regrets that I am unable to attend the service for Mike. I was a friend of Mike a long time ago when we were in public and highschool. I regret not keeping in touch, and regret it even more now. I am so sorry for your loss. If Mike remained the same as when I knew him, which I know he did, I know that he touched a lot of lives and only for the best. I remember him as a great person and friend, and even though I have not talked to him a very long time, I will miss him. I will hold Mike and you his family in my prayers.

As a child growing up, Michael was a gentle sweetheart, and a bit of a prankster. I will never forget the look he would get in his eyes which meant he was up to something, however at the same time proclaiming his innocence. He grew up into a kind and generous man who I will miss terribly.
We could all take lessons from Michael on how to live life to the fullest. After battling this horrible disease for his entire life, he made the most of each and every day and never once looked for sympathy for his situation.
Susan, Tracy and Family,
Although this does not make the loss any easier to bear, know that Michael is free of pain and sleeping peacefully.

To the family of Mike,
It’s so difficult to know what to say at a time like this – especially through e-mail. I read through all the condolences that have been sent to Mike and I recognized many names from highschool and even elementary school.
It’s clear that Mike touched many lives in many ways. I went to elementary school and highschool with Mike, and we always chatted whenever we saw each other in the halls. He was always, always smiling.
After highschool, people scatter like leaves in the wind. You occasionally run into people here and there and are usually forced to have the same conversation about where you’re living and what you’re doing. Everytime I saw Mike, though, it was different. He genuinely cared. I always ended up spending hours talking to him whenever we saw each other again. And the funny thing is, after highschool, we ran into each other everywhere! At the mall, at the bar, in a restaurant, in a coffee shop, at the park – literally everywhere. And I always lit up whenever I saw him.
Mike had a spirit that many people only aspire to have. He was warm, compassionate, thoughtful, and incredibly funny. His humor is obviously noticed by others – it seems to be the underlying theme of everyone’s memories!
I live in Vancouver now and just found out about Mike’s passing last night. I know about the harsh realities of Cystic Fibrosis, but it still came as a shock to hear about someone with such vitality and spirit.
I hope that you all are comforted by the words, prayers and thoughts of so many people that have been touch by Mike throughout his entire life. I wish you peace and comfort.
And, dear Mike, I hope you are enjoying all the breaths you ever wanted to take without strain…I hope you are surrounded by as much warmth and love as you spread here.
My thoughts are with you,
Erin O’Halloran

Dear Sue and Tracy
It is very difficult to try and say something helpful when nothing can- so just accept an extra hug with my love and sincere condolences. I hope you both will have a chance to reflect the wonderful gifts Michael gave to you, that make his loss that much harder but your memories that much brighter.

CARD OF THANKS – LONDON FREE PRESS March 3, 2007
It was Mike’s wish to live his life as normal as possible, without expecting limitations and accommodations and he did so up to the very end. Reverend Brian McKay, thank you for attending to our hospital needs and being there for us from the beginning to the end. Thanks to Ed Clarkson and James Yeh for your memories of Mike, Bill Little from TD Visa for sharing a part of Mike that we didn’t know (and did he ever get the cubicle?), and to his brother-in-law Matthew Bossence for speaking on behalf of the family. Remembering Mike… I still have fond memories of Mike to this day. His laugh, his wide eye stare of disbelief, his matter of fact statements. He lived his life the way he wanted and I have always had the utmost respect and admiration for him. We got to know each other pretty well over the years… but I wish we had more time to see each other grow to be the people we are today. I know Mike was surrounded by people that loved him. It makes me smile to hear people remember him in the ways I do. Though I don’t see or hear you anymore, I feel you are always with me. Till we see each other again, rest well. Forever loved and never forgotten. JY.

Dear Susan, Tracey, and Ruth,
My heartfelt sympathies are with you at this time. When Jim phoned me last night, I was so sad to hear that Michael had died. I had been praying for him since Ruth’s email just before Christmas.

My deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family in this time of sorrow. Michael was a co-worker of mine and well liked by everyone at TD Visa. He will be missed greatly.
I have many fond high school memories of Mike. He will be missed by all who knew him.
My hearts and prayers are with you and your family at this sad time. Mike was a great guy and he was fun to work with. I am deeply sorry for your loss.

God love.

Mikey has always had a special place in my heart.
I enjoyed working with him immensely and his humour knew no bounds. I have always had great respect for how he chose to live his life in spite of his challenges. My heart is saddened to think of the loss but yet I am better for knowing Mike and I know that many others feel exactly the same. I hope he knew how much of a shining light he was to so many of us and how he touched our lives.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.

What can I say. I am so sorry for loss. I know right now you are busy, taking care of business, as you always do, but when it is over and done I am here. You have always been a brick. Where do you get your strength? Please know that my heart and thoughts are with you and your family.
It was a great experience to have known Mike, my thoughts and prayers are with the family.
Mikey was a wonderful person who added a special touch to our workplace for his sense of humour and dedication to excellence in his work. I have known Mikey for quite a while here at TD Visa as Mikey was one of the experienced agents who I shadowed with while in training. Much of what I learned in the beginning came from his shadowing sessions, always helpful and knowledgeable and I am very sorry to hear he is no longer with us. My deepest sympathies to his family… Mikey we will all miss you!!!
Tina Abeid
Mike was a remarkable spirit.
I would run into him in the TD cafeteria, pumping iron at the gym, at the mall with Eddie, out and about painting the town red, and receive random e-mails simply saying hello.
He was who he was, and for that we will always be grateful
Thank you Mike for gracing us with your beautiful presence
xoxo
I had the greatest Uncle Mike in the world. I now have a special guardian angel!
Susan and family. Im so sorry for you loss. Mike was a great man and we are proud to have crossed his path in life. Always remember to think of him everyday and he will never be gone. My love and thoughts are with you always. Sandi

Dear Mike the Joker: We will miss you.

My husband and I were lucky enough to meet Mike at different times in our lives…I got to enjoy his great sense of humour all through high school whereas Derek got to enjoy working with Mikey at TD and hanging out with him afterwards. He was always a very caring & wonderful person who we will miss dearly.
Our deepest condolences to all of Mike’s loved ones. You are in our thoughts and prayers. At this difficult time I pray that you have peace in knowing we will see him again someday in a much better place.

Susan, Tracy and family, although we never met – I wanted you to know that I am truly honoured to have met and known Mike over the past few years. The courage and grace in which he lived his life will always have a special place in my heart. He is an insipiration to everyone who is fortunate enough to call him a friend.
My heart and prayers are with you in this difficult time.
Dear Susan,
I am Linda, daughter of Doris Bufflap.
I took His hand when I heard him call;
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way;
I found that place at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared a laugh, a kiss;
Ah yes, these things, I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savored much;
Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.
Perhaps my time seems all to brief;
Mikey was one of the most consistently wonderful and generous spirits I had the pleasure of knowing professionally and socially – he will be much missed.
My heart goes out to his family, loved ones and everyone else whose life he touched.
I worked with Mike a few years back at the old TDCT branch 40. I have many memories working with Mike. He could make anyone laugh at any time. Mike will be missed by many! He was a great guy! My heart goes out to his family and my thoughts are with you in this difficult time.
Mikey you will be truly missed. Mike and I started at TD visa together. I enjoyed working with Mike. I am so sorry for your loss. Mike was a great person!

Dear Susan, Tracy & family,
I am so deeply sorry for your loss .. it’s hard to find the words to express. Mike is an inspiration and will be missed. My thoughts are with you in this difficult time.
Mike, you will be missed, may you rest in peace.
I worked with Mike at Visa for many years. Every time I saw him he always made me laugh. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.
Mike was one in a million and he will be truly missed.
God Bless.
Chris
I worked with Mikey way back in the days at the Dairy Queen for a few years. Every time I saw him he always made me laugh and smile. Infact all of us were tickled by his sense of humour.
My deepest sympathy to you and your family at this difficult time.
Susan and family,
We are so sorry to hear about your loss.
Our thoughts and sympathy are with you at this difficult time.

To Mike’s Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Mike for a couple of years at Visa. I will always remember him making me laugh during my first shadowing/training sessions when I first started there. It was a privilege to work with someone who had such a strong sense of being and a fantastic sense of humour such as him. He will be missed.
To Mike’s family,
I just want to say how truly sorry I am for your loss.
Miss ya Mikey,
Christine
My heart and prayers go out to your family at this difficult time.
Mike will be truly missed
I am so sorry for your loss, my thoughts and prayers go to you during this difficult time.
Dear Susan,Tracy, Ruth and Family,
Please accept my deepest sympathy in the loss of your beloved Michael. He was one of the kindest most gentle persons I’ve ever met, full of humour – and so very brave!
May the cherished memories of all you shared together help to sustain you in these dark times.
Please know you do not walk alone through these low valleys.
MY PRAYER
Loving God, be with him,
Guide him on the way
In his homeward journey
To a newborn day.
Receive his soul in Your Kingdom
In life that knows no end,
Hold him gently in Your arms
Until we meet again. Amen.
In love and caring,
Norma
My sincere sympathies on your loss of Michael. I try hard to further research for the cure or control for CF and I’m saddened every time we lose such great people before their time. I trust in time you will appreciate every day you had and not what you could have had.
Tracy, Matt and family,
I’m so sorry to hear about your brother Mike. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
Mary Sue
Mike was truly one of a kind. I am very fortunate to have been a part of his life. There will always be a special place for Mike in my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
I am at a loss for words at the news of your loss.
I knew Mike through work and I have to say I have never met anyone with such a zest for life. I feel honoured and inspired to have come across such a wonderful soul.
To Mike’s family my heartfelt condolences are with you. May you find solace in the knowledge that Mike is now a free spirit and no longer battling his way through. He will forever be remembered by many for his laughter and his keen sense of humour. God bless him and your family.
Mikey was a kind-hearted person. I am grateful I had the chance to have crossed paths with him in this life. His strength and honesty is appreciated; His pride, passion for life admired. As we mourn the absence of his glow, I am thankful for how he touched my heart. His bright spirit will continue to shine in the wonderful memories, support, and encouragement of all he touched. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time.
Mikey,
I have so many fond memories, I don’t even know where to begin. I will miss you so much. You always made me laugh and had such a zest for life. There was nothing that you were afraid to try. You are truly an inspiration. We had many new year’s together, as well as some fun Halloween nights. I’ll never forget break dancing with you and sitting around at coffee shops chatting. You are at peace now. You should be proud for all that you have accomplished. I am truly blessed to have met you and honoured that I can call you a friend. I will miss you….xox
To the family:
Mikey was a truly genuine and wonderful hearted man. You raised him well and should be proud for everything that he has done. I am deeply sorry for your loss. Words can’t express how much he meant to me. I’m so sorry. My thoughts are with you as go through this difficult time.
I love you Mikey…you truly are an inspiration…xox
Never.
I work @ Victoria Hospital, and I was often called to do Mike’s blood gases.
I was in complete shock to hear of his passing. I am very sorry for your loss!
I hardly knew Mike, but I could tell he was a great guy!
*RIP*
My sincerest condolences.
-Meaghan Leigh 🙂
Our deepest sympathy goes out to you, Mike’s dear family. Mike was a cherished friend of our son, Andrew, and our house lit up with Mike’s presence.
God Bless you all at very very difficult time. Please take comfort in the knowledge you raised a wonderful son who gave pleasure to many.
Susan,
I’m so sorry that I wasn’t able to see Mike again in the past few weeks. I send my deepest condolences to you. Mike battled hard and should serve as an ispiration to us all.

Mikey, did you know how much you would be missed? I don’t think you did. You brought so much love, laughter, and sunshine into everyone’s life. For such a young man you were wise beyond your years and I will never forget those words. Thank you for being you, and for all the joy and laughter you spread.
To Mike’s family, I wish there was something I could say to easy the pain and lose that you must be feeling. I can only wish you all the best and the knowledge that your son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend was deeply loved by all that met him.
Missing You Mike

Our entire family was astonished by the outpouring of love and support we received. We would like to thank all of Mikey’s family, friends, co-workers throughout TD Canada Trust Visa and Branch Systems, the CF Support Team for their care and compassion and especially the staff at A. Millard George Funeral Home who made every aspect of Mike’s services as easy as possible for us. The online condolences allowed old friends a chance to reach out from the past and reconnect with us. So remember all “Have Courage”. Susan Goold, Tracy Bossence and Ruth Taylor
It has been 10 very long years, but you are still greatly missed and loved. Keep a watch out for Grams as she is celebrating her 93rd birthday on Saturday and says she is waiting on her time to join you. Love Mom
JY.
