I was so sorry to hear of Jack’s passing. Gary called to let me know. I remember many fond times from when I was very little to my teenage years with you all. I specifically remember a trip to the Detroit Zoo. Quite an awesome trip for me at that time!
I also regret I won’t be able to attend the service. We have had a trip to the Caribbean planned for 2 years with our 2 children to celebrate our 35th anniversary and will be away at that time. My thoughts will be with you.
Thanks for the memories!
Love Lori

To Jack’s family,
I knew Jack years ago when he worked with Cadet Band at Ipperwash, and also as the former CO of 9 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps , which I also commanded from 2000 to 2005. He was a lot of fun to be around and I extend my condolences on your loss. If you would like some representation from the Cadet Corps at the memorial service, let me know and I will try to arrange it with the present CO.

I would like to extend my condolences to Jacks family and friends.
As a former cadet with #9, Major Ryan was an active part of my teenage years. Especially influential in 90-91 when I worked with him as the cadet commanding officer. I did not realize then but certainly appreciate now the amount of time and effort Jack put into the corps and my own cadet career. Likely hundreds of teenagers have had the experience of training under Jack’s leadership. Although I cannot speak for them all I know that I am better for it.
