Ubuntu
“I am what I am because of who we all are”
October 28, 2022 Marks the Passing of Our Family Matriarch
My grandmother never used the word Ubuntu, but she embodied it. Ubuntu means humanity. It means you are a collection of every person you’ve crossed paths with. It means never passing up the opportunity to help another person when you can. It’s the quickness to help someone without judging them. It is the understanding of unlimited wealth from interpersonal relationships. It’s doing the right thing – even when it puts you in danger. She will live on through me and all those whom she touched.
She will be missed by her only child, Ann Marie, her grandchildren, Talithia and Rashad. And, her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and friends.
Please join our family in celebrating her life.
Share your stories and memories of her.
Help someone and think of her.
With Love, from all of us.

A heart of gold has left us but with hope and a smile and great memories to cherish her Royal Highness Eileen Grant of Kingston and Canada may your soul rest in peace and perpetual light keep shining to Ann-Marie Talithia Roshard and all other members of the family strength for today and Bright hopes for tomorrow
Condolences to Annmarie, Talithia & Rashad,
I will always have fond memories of Aunt Eileen. She was very easy going, genuine, relaxed and she had quite a sense of humor. I will always remember when she first met my husband she introduced herself as “ me is the ugly one” and she was as always, very welcoming and embracing. Her faith in God was very strong and she loved, served and trusted Him all the way, never wavering . I know she is resting in God’s arms and we will meet again. Rest in peace my dear aunt. You are with your Saviour, my dear mom and grandmother and so many of our loved ones that have gone before. What a celebration!! Until we meet again.
Your niece and family,
Faith, Ian, Imani and Zahra Edwards
Eileen. The name means Little Bird, Strength. She was her name, and now that little bird has flown away. She was strong, now that strength will continue in her daughter and grand children. As a family we once numbered 12 but one by one we go . We will meet again in the sweet by and by. Sleep peacefully my sister . Sleep peacefully my aunt. We love you, yes, but JESUS loves you best. Your sister Joan, niece Marsha , nephew Kwame and our family.
Aunt Eileen was there for me throughout the highs & lows of my life. She traveled all the way from Canada when I was hospitalized, when I was at university, when I got married, even for my bridal shower the month before the wedding, & numerous other occurrences both public & behind the scenes. She never let distance stop her from showing us how much she loved us & wanted to be a significant part of our lives. She is with her heavenly Father now, finally on the receiving end of perfect joy. But her impact lives on here on earth. I will never forget her.
