Obituary
FRANCIS, Bob….
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” Francis, of London, on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at the age of 80 years, at home with his family by his side. Beloved husband of Linda for 56 years. Loving father of Tracy (Rob) Park and Kimberly (Greg) Francis. Proud Papa of Emily (Adam) Johnson, Robert, Finn and Reese. Dear brother of Barry (Audrey), Bonnie (Roc) and Bruce (Irene). Greatly missed by his sisters-in-law Gloria (Dave) Jackson and Sandy Grover. Predeceased by his parents Bob (2014) and June (2013). Remembered by his nieces and nephews, and his many cherished friends and neighbours.
Bob was a one of a kind man who made an impression on everyone he met and who made you feel special in his presence. He was most proud when spending time with his grandchildren, at the beach, on the snow hills or in the pool, he was always there. He loved working as an Insurance Adjuster across Canada and the United States for 50+ years, his time at the YMCA, and spending time with many lifelong friends. The family wishes to thank his doctors and especially Leslie Russell from the Bryon Family Medical Centre for all of her help and support.
Family and friends are welcome for visitation on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 4-7pm at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 1pm, followed by reception. A private interment in Woodland Cemetery, London will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s memory to the Diabetes Canada, 1300-522 University Avenue, Toronto ON M5G 2R5, The Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 47 Squire Baker’s Lane, Markham ON L3P 3G8 or a charity of your choice. Linda and family,
Bob was such a wonderful, kind and brilliant man. An old soul or character depending on the day. I loved working with him and enjoyed his visits to my office. He will be missed. Our deepest condolences.
I am so sorry to hear of Bobs passing . We have so many great memories of the pass . He is well loved , a Gentleman in all sense of the word . My thoughts and prayers are with you .
When talking with Bob in his final few days, my mind kept flashing back to one particular moment some 48 years ago. Bob (my cousin) was saying that he and Linda were at a cottage in Forrest Ontario. He invited me to visit and meet Linda’s sister, Gloria. I shall, forever, be in his debt. We are celebrating our 47th year of marriage. Bob, on hearing of our engagement, had me promise not to blame him for his role in bringing things about. He added so much to our lives through the passing years. His wit, his unique brand of “sarcastic” humor, his steadfast friendship are his legacy. Thanks for that phone call, Bob. Rest in peace.
To all of Bob’s family and friends. I am shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Bob. I was privileged to work with him at ClaimsPro and valued him as an expert in the craft of insurance adjusting. May he rest in the sweetest of peace. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone
I last spoke with Bob about 1 year ago, he had not changed from his outstanding presence and demeanour. A good friend and very professional insurance colleague.
Sincere condolences to the family and large extended family
With deepest sympathy Linda to you & your family at this sad time.
Tony & Elaine Sonderup
My sincere condolences to Linda and family. I will certainly miss our discussions and having lunch with Bob.
Dear Barry and Audrey,
So very sorry to learn of Bob’s passing. He was a great guy and I’m sure will be sorely missed by you, his other family and friends.
I loved to read his adjuster reports-they were great stories.
Bob had Knights tickets near mine and would stop and chat about the latest crazy claim he was handling. He was a good friend of Mitchell Hockin and McCall Dawson.
I will miss him. Please accept my sincere condolences.
For health reasons I can’t attend the visitation or funeral but I will be thinking of Bob and you.
Very best wishes,
Brian.
My sincere condolences to the entire Francis clan.
Good memories remain.
I will miss your warm handshake and rye smile Cousin Bob . Unlike some of our clan we could count on your golf score to be a true reflection of your game . Happy Trails. Jeff Jackson
The Francis family has been a constant and comforting presence on Delta Place for all of my life. I’m feeling Bob’s loss deeply as will many others for whom Bob, Linda, Tracy and Kim have been not only generous and welcoming neighbours, but part of our extended family. Sending love and comfort to Bob’s family and friends.
My sincere condolences on your loss.
Linda and family,
So sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. Bob was a thoughtful, caring and kind neighbour and he assisted my mom and dad both by his visits and the offering of a helping hand.
Bill and I enjoyed our many chats with Bob prior to the London Knights hockey games. He will truly be missed by so many.
Mary Anne and Bill Dowding
I am so very sad that Bob is no longer with us. I have known him and the Francis family my whole life. Bob was always kind, friendly, and helpful. He will be greatly missed. My heart is with you all.
Very sad to hear this……great man !!!!
To Linda and family.
I first met Bob in 1980 when I moved to London with my family to take up a position in the insurance industry. He was the first person I met in this area. He heard that I was moving to London and called me to welcome me to the area. A gentleman and a thoughtful person he was and a person who made a difference in other peoples’ lives. He will be missed.
Dear Linda, we are so very sorry for your loss and heartache. Bob was a treasure, so kind, intelligent, fun and generous. Bob was a true gentleman loved and respected by us and his colleagues in the insurance industry. We grieve and are sad he is no longer on this earth but find solace in the wonderful memories he left us.
My condolences for your loss.
Lynda and family. My condolences for your loss. May the wonderful memories bring you strength at this difficult time.
It was truly a pleasure to know and work with Bob over many years and especially the years at ClaimsPro. He was such a kind and generous man always having time to share his knowledge and stories of life in London. Bob had a true passion for his Claims Adjusting career and truly cared about every customer and client.
