Obituary
MURPHY, Lynne…
Quietly with family at her side, at Parkwood Institute, London, Lynne Murphy passed away in her 76th year. Lynne was the loving sister of Nancy (Rod) and sister-in-law of Ronalee, Delia and Peggy. She was predeceased by her parents Raymond and Vivian, as well as her siblings Gary, Donald and David. She was the cherished aunt of Kelly (Joe), Julie (Iain), Shawn (Tara), Sondra (Darren), Matthew (Emily), Jonathan (Krystal), Colleen (Derek), Leanne (Andrew), Heather (Peter) and Jamie (Adam) and will be missed by her great-nieces and great-nephews. A life well lived, filled with family and the most wonderful friends. Lynne enjoyed a career with HSBC in banking, and had a retirement filled with pastimes such as gardening, reading, Thai chi, stained glass and dragon boating. Lynne travelled the world during the course of her life, with her life-long friend, Anne Robertson. Lynne was a dog lover, and she adored the dachshund breed. She had five dogs over her lifetime, Fritz, Samantha, Scarlett, Tara, and Katie. Lynne enjoyed spending time with family and friends and this always took place over great food and good wine. Lynne had an incredible circle of friends that supported her always, including Jim Allison, who was a wonderful support throughout her journey. Lynne fought until the end with grace and dignity. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend. She will be forever remembered and greatly missed always. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In memory of Lynne, a donation to Happy’s Place – Retirement Home for Dogs,(www.happysplace.ca) would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted with A. Millard George Funeral Home, 519-433-5184. I am saddened to hear of Lynn’s death. I met her a few years ago at the Kiwanis Senior Centre in a stained glass class. Often we would take a break from class and enjoy a coffee together. Lynn talked about her cancer but she didn’t complain even when her treatment left her feeling unwell. She tried her best I think, always with a smile. I hope she is at peace now.
Lynne was a good neighbour and very special friend to me. I’ll miss her greatly. We supported each other through some pretty tough times in the last few years. The companionship, good food and wine, and lots of laughter will be cherished memories for me in the years to come.
Sincere condolences to Lynne’s family and friends. Lynne’s infectious laugh and beautiful personality will be missed by all.
I met Lynne through work and was immediately drawn to her sense of humour and her enthusiasm for life. We shared a lot of good laughs together and she will be missed by all who knew her.
My condolences to her family and friends.
Lynne was a neighbour of ours for over 35 years. She was a wonderful, kind, interesting and witty lady, and we will miss her terribly. RIP dear Lynne.
My deepest sympathy to all of Lynne’s family and friends. I knew Lynne from our tai chi classes.
I am so sorry to hear of Lynne passing.
Auntie Lynne was a wonderful Aunt. She loved family and we have created many beautiful memories in her lifetime. I will always cherish our visits to London, our Christmas and other holidays spent together, and will miss that immensely. I know you are at peace now Auntie Lynne, but I would have given anything to keep you here with us .
We have so many amazing memories with Auntie Lynne. She always welcomed us with open arms when visiting London for hockey tournaments, and family gatherings! Christmas was a special holiday together – many years of shenanigans shared with great food, wine and love. We will miss her greatly – she was wise, courageous , graceful and had an amazing sense of humour. RIP – love you Auntie.
I miss Lynne’s warm and positive energy which she shared even throughout her battle with cancer. My condolences to all who knew and loved her.

I first met Lynne in 1989, we worked together for many years. She was always quick to offer me a ride when I no longer drove. Lynne visited me countless times in 2019 when I was at Parkwood for Rehab, Because of COVID we didn’t see each other in person, but I would send her pictures on WhatsApp to try to cheer her up. I am happy we were able to go out for dinner the beginning of November. I deeply regret not pushing harder to see her this spring and early summer.
Lynne..I really miss you; Brian, Chris and Jessica miss you also.
I hope you are happy now and enjoy Eternity with all of your Dachshunds in Heaven.
My deepest condolences to her family.
Our hearts were very heavy to hear about Lynne’s passing. For all who loved Lynne, please accept our most heartfelt condolences. We had the privilege of being Lynne’s neighbours for just over two years. Lynne was such a kind, thoughtful and smile producing lady. We absolutely loved sitting in our back yard with a glass of wine and chatting away with Lynne and Jim. We would also like to express specific condolences to Jim who was such an important person in Lynne’s life! Our hearts hurt for you.
