Passed away peacefully at Amica Georgetown on Monday, November 8, 2021 in her 90th year. Beloved wife of Anton “Tony” for 63 years. Dear sister of Robert (Christa) Ries of London. Hannelore will be lovingly remembered by her nephew Steven (Shari) Ries of Georgetown and their children Evan (Emily) and Alexander (Chantal). Hannelore immigrated from Germany in 1957 and settled in Toronto where she met Tony. London became their home in 1988 after her retirement from Union Carbide, and they loved spending winters in Florida. Cremation has taken place. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners, 435 Windermere Road, London ON N5X 2T1. Online condolences, memories and photographs may be shared at www.amgfh.com
I used to visit Hanna & Tony at their condo quite often, less so in more recent years. Hanna always made me feel so welcome and would insist on feeding me – always too well. I have many memories sitting at their kitchen table enjoying long conversations. I’ve been deeply saddened by Hanna’s declining health, particularly these last few years. There’s a blessing that her passing brings an end to her struggle, but I know she’ll be missed by everyone close to her. My condolences to Tony, to my friend, her nephew, Steve, his family and to her brother and his wife, Bob & Christa, my second parents. You’re in my thoughts.

We are so sorry to hear of Hannelore’s passing. We got to know Tony and Hannelore when we visited my Mom at Amica and they have become friends.

We spent many pleasant times at Tony and Hanna’s for lunch and for happy hour reminiscing about their trips to Florida. Hannah was always beautifully dressed and looked lovely. Our trips to Port Huron and our lunches at the Olive Garden’s bring back special memories. Our condolences to Tony, Bob and Krista, Steve and family.
