Obituary
MacFARLANE, Joe…
Unexpectedly at Victoria Hospital, London, on Saturday, September 25, 2021, Joe MacFarlane passed away in his 68th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Sharon MacFarlane for over 43 years. Proud and loving father of Matt and Jodi and their spouses Kelly and Devon. Adored Grandpa Joe of Daniel, Margaret, Theodore and Sutter. Predeceased by his parents Gord MacFarlane and Jean MacFarlane-Phillips and his brother Peter. Brother to Bernie, Marjorie and Jeanie. Joe will be missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family and many, many friends and previous coworkers.
Joe and Sharon met in their teens and later married in 1978. They were blessed with two wonderful children who made him so proud with every accomplishment they achieved. Along came their four grandchildren and he became a whole new man as “Grandpa Joe”. They were absolutely the light of his life, though he did have a habit of never being able to say “No”! Joe was a true family man, attending every event, practice or game of the kids, always being there to support them along the way. He especially enjoyed hockey. Whether it was driving the kids to their games, playing a game of scrimmage with them or watching his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs.
Family and friends are welcomed for visiting on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-9pm at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. Please call the funeral home between 9am-5pm (519-433-5184) to reserve your spot for the visitation. As per the directive of the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, a limited number of people can attend. All those attending are required to wear masks and follow COVID-19 protocols. Cremation to follow. A Celebration of Joe’s life to follow at a date to be determined. In memory of Joe, the family asks that you make a donation to Canadian Tire’s Jumpstart Program, 2180 Yonge Street, PO Box 700, Station K, Toronto, ON M4P 2V8, to help support youth sports, Online condolences, memories and photographs shared at www.amgfh.com

Sharon, Matt and Jodi,
I was truly shocked and saddened on hearing of Joe’s sudden passing.
Time does not heal the loss of such a great long time friend and team mate. You left us way too soon Harold.
Rest in peace my friend.
Please accept my condolences on the sudden passing of Joe. He was a great man in so many respects! I remember Ron saying Joe would go and visit him when he was ill, how Ron enjoyed his visits! Joe was very special to Ron and to me. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Wendy Blain
We were very sorry to hear of Joe’s passing. Joe was a good and loyal friend to our brother, Ted Pritchett, who passed away earlier this year. Ted looked forward to Joe’s Sunday visits over a Tim Horton’s coffee. Joe was a supportive friend to Ted especially during the difficult weeks prior to Ted’s passing. We are grateful for this. Condolences to your family. Ted’s family
Sharon and Family;
Carol and I would like to extend our sincere condolences for the loss of your dear Joe. There are few words, if any, that ease these difficult times life seems to put in our way.
Joe was a gentleman with a kind heart and that great sneaky grin; and we’re confident that all those precious memories will help you and the family through this challenging time.
He will always be our friend and will be sorely missed.
Look after each other ….. Carol and Randy McIntyre
