Obituary
BURKE, Eileen…
Peacefully with her daughter by her side at Victoria Hospital, London, on Thursday, September 23, 2021, Eileen Burke passed away in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of the late Robert J. Burke (1993). Loving mother of Michael Joseph Burke and Paulette Michelle Burke-Demelo, both of London. Cherished Nanny Burke of Cassie and Allie Demelo. Treasured sister of Robert and Donna Sampson of Etobicoke, Joseph Sampson of Peterborough, Harley Sampson and Sarah of Georgetown, PEI, Marion Delaney of Summerside, PEI, Isabel Clarke of Port Alberni, BC, and Gloria and Allie Ballum of Orangeville and sister-in-law of Paulette Burke-Simpson of Toronto. Dear aunt of several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Irving and Anne Sampson, her sisters Jean Butler (William), Barb MacIsaac, and Vonnie Duffy (Maurice), her brother Ronald Sampson and her brothers-in-law John Clarke, and Denzil Delaney.
Eileen was born and raised in Georgetown, PEI and left home at the young age of 16. She first moved to Montreal, then back to Georgetown, and then finally settled in London. She was a warm, loving, spirited woman who was so proud to raise her children and be the best Nanny Burke to her two granddaughters. She had an incredible green thumb and loved spending time in the kitchen. When visiting loved ones or friends, she would never leave her house empty handed… bringing food, treats, toys and of course wonderful company. She is a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend who will truly be missed.
Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are welcomed for visiting on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 6-8 pm at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. A private funeral service will be held. Please call the funeral home between 9am-5pm (519-433-5184) to reserve your spot for the visitation. As per the directive of the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, a limited number of people can attend. All those attending are required to wear masks and follow COVID-19 protocols. Future interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, London. In memory of Eileen, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 1200-2300 Yonge Street, Box 2414, Toronto, ON M4P 1E4. Eileen was a wonderful women who always made you so welcome in her home She was loved by many and she will be safely missed
On behalf of the entire family let me just say this was devastating. Eileen was the warmest, kindest person we had the honor of knowing. To have all the wonderful memories of time spent with her both in London and on the farm in Clinton is truly a blessing. Mom will miss her terribly as will Shelly and I. Thanks for the memories Eileen, God bless and rest well.
Love,
the Pearson family

Michael and Paulette I am sorry to hear of the loss of your mom. Even though I haven’t seen her in a while I have thought of her and Sheila and the fun times we had together in our younger days. She is now back in the arms of her Bob. Eileen was a wonderful lady and friend. Cherish the memories.
