ROSE: Les……
With heavy hearts, the family of Charles Leslie “Les” Rose announces his sudden passing on Saturday November 24, 2018 at the age of 67. Beloved husband of Rita (Capitano) Rose for 35 years. Loving father of Meaghan Higgins (Jason), and Heather Rose. Proud Papa of Mira, Zeya, Ethan, Bain, Kale and Reid. Cherished brother of Denise Soall (and best friend Mark). Dear brother in-law to Vic Capitano (Denise), Cathy Quick (Doug), Bernie Capitano (late Rowena), Phil Capitano (Debbie), Trish Andrew, Terri Capitano (Tim), John Capitano (Cathy), Don Capitano (Sharon), and Susan Fletcher (Scott). Adored “Uncle Les” to many nieces, nephews and families. Survived by special mother in-law Catherine “Kay” Capitano. Predeceased by his parents Dennis and Margaret Rose and father in-law Vic Capitano Sr. Les was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and lived along the Promenade of Portabello beach. His family moved to London, Ontario in 1966. He had a lengthy career of 37 years with Canada Post and was an avid soccer player with a semi-professional career at the German Canadian Club. Les was a proud Scotsman who regularly enjoyed meeting friends at the pub. He had an open heart for everyone he met and will be fondly remembered by many special friends. Over the years he enjoyed cooking, gardening, curling, times around the pool and being at the cottage with family. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2019 from 1 – 3pm, at the German Canadian Club, 1 Cove Road, London. Please wear your favourite soccer jersey (or any sports jersey), something Scottish or plaid if you wish. If desired, memorial donations at a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family. A. So sorry to hear if your loss Meaghan, My thoughts are with you and your family.
We are heartbroken for your loss. Whenever we would meet at a family gathering, Les was always there playing with the kids and joining in on the fun. He had qualities of kindness, knowledge and positivity that made kids flock to him and adults eager to listen to his stories. He was especially supportive of our Matt’s soccer aspirations and went to great lengths to compliment his skills. He was a very proud and special man who will be greatly missed.

He was always happy to see you and openly welcomed you into his home and heart. His belly laughter was a wonderful sound to everyone around him. The world would be a better place if there were more people like Les. He will be truly missed by all his family and friends. He will always remain in our hearts, Love Don & Sharon

Your loss is greater than anyone could imagine. Just know that we love you all and are here for you.
So sorry to hear of the passing of Les at this time, and at such a young age. I know he was a well respected letter carrier as was Reta. I am glad they have enjoyed retirement together until this time, as am I. I hope I will be able to be at his Memorial when it happens.
Hi Meaghan:
You, Jason, and your family are in my heart and mind. My condolences on the passing of your Dad.
Rita and family.
I was absolutely heartbroken when I heard the news about Les. I have lots of fond memories of family get togethers, where he always made me feel special and part of the family. Thinking of you. love Vicky.
I find it hard to express the sadness I felt in learning of the passing of Les and how difficult it must be at this time especially for my dear sister Rita and the rest of the family. I will miss his crushing handshakes and brilliant smile as well as sharing stories of times past. You will be sorely missed my friend.
My deepest condolences to you, Rita, and all of Les’s family.
Thinking about Les, I only have good memories. He was a great soccer player, but more than that, stood out with his positive outlook and personality. It was a pleasure and honor to have known him. He will be missed!
I am truly sorry to hear of Les’ passing.
I played football with Les for the German Canadians back in the day.
Be at Peace #10.
It’s with very heavy hearts that Elaine and I send our condolences to Rita and family. I knew Les as a football adversary, a football team mate, and great friend that I could share a pint or ten with at the Oar House. As we won’t be able to attend the celebration of life at the German club in person, believe us when we say we will be there in spirit. Rest in peace Les, Jim and Elaine McConnell.
