I was a RN under Dorothy’s expert guidance in obstetrics at Vic. When I had my children at Vic she made sure I was well cared for along with my babies. Such a wonderful person. My sincere condolences to her family.
“Aunt” Dorothy has always been a part of my life and part of our family since my Mom Esther first worked under her when “Dot” was a head nurse in the 50s.
Always a mainstay at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter dinners, her and “Uncle Bill’s” presence was widely anticipated and always welcomed.
She loved boats and travel, and would never miss an opportunity to visit the waterfront and watch the boats, whether visiting the tall ships in Sarnia, regular trips with Bill to Port Stanley and Port Burwell, or hanging out watching the cruise ships for hours with my Mom during one trip for a few days in Vancouver.
Dorothy will be forever in my many cherished memories. The last of a group of good friends from that generation.
Dorothy was a friend of mine and I often served her and Brian for the last 6 years or so and I will miss her, as will the staff and friends from the Green Lantern Restaurant. She had quite the sense of humour and it was something to hear her and Brian bicker back and forth. She would often bring in a treat or stickers/items she found that she thought my kids would like and never forgot my birthday. Her phone numbers are still programmed into my phone. Rest in Peace Dorothy. It won’t be the same without you.
My condolences to her family/friends in Ontario, British Columbia and England. Sorry I wasn’t able to attend the service, as I didn’t find out about it until Saturday and had to work Sunday.
