HYDE, Gerald Bateman “Jerry”…
At Chelsey Park , on Saturday, November 2, 2013, Gerald “Jerry” Bateman Hyde of London in his 90th year. Beloved husband of the late Peggy Hyde (2006). Dear father of Jerry (Sandra) Hyde Jr. of Summerside PEI, Joan (Ian Cheng) Hyde and Gordon Hyde of London. Loving grandfather of Jennifer (Craig) Nowak of Waterloo, Andrew Hyde (Corine Thomson), Kristen Cheng (Joel Robitaille) and Tyler Cheng all of London. Jerry was a card carrying member of the Progressive Conservative party since the age of 18 and held many municipal offices in Belleville, Ontario in the 1950 & 60’s including City Mayor in 1958-1959. Friends will be received by the family from 6-9pm on Monday, November 4, 2013 and one hour prior (10-11am) to the service on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 11am at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. Interment in Belleville Cemetery, Belleville, Ontario. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Chelsey Park Long Term Care, in memory of G.B. Hyde, 310 Oxford St. W. London, ON N6H 4N6 or Charity of Choice. We are sorry for your loss. He was a super man. We met him on the bowling green many times and sold bowling supplies for him. Jerry was a
true advocate for the lawn bowling sport.
