SCHOUTEN, Johannes “John” – of London……

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints”. Our heavenly Father in his infinite mercy and grace has taken to Himself at his appointed time, John Schouten August 24, 2013 at Victoria Hospital, London in his 85th year. Beloved Husband of Betty Schouten (nee Schippers) for 61 years. Loving father of Henry & Anne Schouten of Yarrow BC, Pete & Fran Schouten of Cloverdale BC, Joanne & Nick DeBoer of Winnipeg MB, Paul & Rita Schouten of Fort Langley BC, Dick & Nell Schouten of Yarrow BC, Rob & Janet Schouten of Aldergrove BC, Earl & Sylvia Schouten of Waterdown ON, Ted & Lynda Schouten of London ON. Loved by 54 grandchildren, (predeceased by grandaughter Adrianna VanderMeulen nee DeBoer) and 72 great-grandchildren. Beloved brother of (the late) Dirk Schouten (the late Annie), Cor Schouten (Mat), Alie van Eyk (the late Leen), Joop Devos (the late John), Miep VandeWyngaard (the late Joop), Nel Schouten, Thea Dorland (Case), Cathy Bos (Nico) and Bill Schouten (Hester). Born in the Netherlands to the late Willem & Catherina (nee DeGroot) Schouten. Private family interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, London, ON. John was a member Pilgrim Canadian Reformed Church, 266 High Street, London, ON where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 1pm. There will be an opportunity to offer condolences to the family after the funeral service and also on Wednesday evening from 7 – 9 pm at Pilgrim Canadian Reformed Church. A.     Dear family Schouten,

    Sincere condolences offered by one of the Dutch cousins. I have fond memories of oom Jan. The best one goes back to 1990 when I accompanied him to the airport to pick up his missing suitcase. We had a very nice talk. I wish you strenght and togetherness.
