He will be missed by his adoring grandchildren Kevin (Flora), Stephen (Michelle), Derek (Daniela), Otis (Jean), Christopher, Kelly, Jeremy (Alexis), Crystal (Rashad), Jordan and his five great grand-children. Owen will be especially remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family and friends. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed winters in Florida with his life-long love, Reta. Owen was known for his humility and integrity. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. Owen was a shining example to his family and he surrounded our lives with love. His guiding hand on our shoulder will remain with us forever. The family would like to thank Owen’s loving caregivers that tended to his needs particularly over the last year. His dedicated personal support workers Kandie, Darlene and Jackie from the Victoria Order of Nurses, our heroes, we could not have done this without you and we appreciate you more than words can say! Sheena Jacobs, Nurse Practitioner from CCAC coordinated Owen’s care with such grace and understanding. Owen’s primary nurse Becky and others from St. Elizabeth Health Care who thoughtfully watched over Owen with true kindness and compassion. His faithful family doctor, Dr. E. Armogan. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed and we express our sincere thanks for helping us care for Owen comfortably at home. A word cannot express my deepest sympathy to my family. Owen was an amazing husband, father, brother, and friend. I was blessed to meet him 10 years ago (thanks to his amazing grandson) and have meaningful conversations with him at family functions. He was the kind of man who would ask you how your day was and legitimately cared. He always had words of wisedom and words of encouragement. He will truly be missed but most importantly never forgotten. I love you grandpa!
I will always think of the humble, gentle man who loved our church and encouraged us , soo much.
So sorry to hear of Owen’s passing, thoughts and prayers are with the family
Very sorry to hear about Uncle Owens passing. He was a wonderful Uncle, as I think about childhood memories he was a fun Uncle. My daughter Sarah this evening said “you know Mom he was a great Uncle as he tought me how to play skippo the right way”….. I guess his memories live on through many generations. Thinking of you all.

Each day I would sit with Reta and listen to the amazing stories about Owen and their wonderful family, from the time they met, school years, the places they traveled and day to day stories of their family events. It was an honor to know the Underwood family. It was a true blessing to be involved with Owen’s daily care. His great smile, joyful laughter and funny responses made my day. I truly loved the days that he would sing “Jesus loves Me” and one line of “You are my Sunshine”
Thank you Reta, Carolyn and Jordan for inviting me into your home each day not only as a caregiver but as a friend. Judy and Beverly your kindness and open arms will never be forgotten.
To the entire Underwood family you will forever be in my heart.
Carolyn, my condolences to you and your family on the loss of your father. May all the good memories replace the sad ones.
Fondly,
Carrie Connell

I am sorry to hear of your loss and heaven’s gain. It is so interesting because you have been on my mind these past few days not knowing what had happened. I have such fond memories of you two.
