Obituary
BRUCE, Donald Ernest…
Peacefully in his home, in London, ON on June 25, 2013, one week before his 96th birthday. Don was the loving husband of Isobel, who predeceased him in 2009, and dear father of Joan Bruce (Ian Burns), Susan McDougall (Keith Kerr), and Bill Bruce (Mary Jane Moreau). He was beloved by his grandchildren Laura Rubino (Steve Ong’udi), Max Rubino, Martha McDougall (Marc McDougall), Matthew Moreau, Elora Moreau (Chris Bagley), as well as two great grandsons. Don was born in Kincardine, ON. He served proudly in the RCAF, both in Canada and overseas during WWII. He worked as a teacher, vice-principal and principal for the London and District School Board. He will be missed by all who knew him. The family is grateful to the many people who supported Don in his latter years, in particular Jenifer Placido Asuncion, Chery Ann Gamilong and Maurice Gonzales Roxas. Cremation has taken place, and family will gather later in July for a graveside interment at Mount Pleasant cemetery in London to honour Don’s life. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation appreciated. A. Millard George Funeral Home, entrusted with arrangements 519-433-5184. Online memories and condolences may be shared at www.amgfh.com .
