Gilbert, Shirley Jean…..
Peacefully at home following a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s Disease, on Saturday May 11th, 2013 in her 81st year. Beloved wife of Bert Gilbert, devoted mother of Tim (Nancy), Peter (Mary), and Barbara. Cherished grandmother of Karen (Jean-Michel), Kelly, Michael (Milena), Steven, Natalee and Holly. Dear sister of Ann Marie. Predeceased by her parents David and Lilly, her sisters Audrey and Frances and her brother John. Shirley attended Sir Adam Beck Collegiate where she graduated with honours and began working at the Central Public Library. She then assumed the role of full-time mother and homemaker, at which she excelled. The family is grateful for the compassionate care received from Cheryl of CCAC and Susie-Ann and Julianna of Revera Home Care. Friends will be received by the family on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 from 7-9pm at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. A memorial service will be held at All Saints’ Anglican Church 249 Hamilton Road (at Inkerman Street) on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 11:00am. Cremation has taken place. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of London, 435 Windermere Road, London, Ontario N5X 2T1 as well as the Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario 4500 Blakie Road, Unit 117, London, ON N6L 1G5. Bert and Family, Peter and I send our heartfelt condolences to you all. I will always have very fond memories of singing alto beside Shirley in the church choir.

Bert. Over the years we have had the opportunity to meet you at family functions with Lavella. We would like to express our sympathy to you and your family on behalf of Lavella and our family.
