Sending my sympathy to you all at the passing of your father, grandfather and great grandpa. You are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. I am glad I had the opportunity to meet Preston through family meals and visits. May he rest in peace.
I am sorry to hear of the loss of Preston. I have many fond memories of the Dallas families. I used to spend alot of time playing with Joanie. We used to walk through the fields to meet and go play at Preston and Phyllis’s or meet at my uncles house to play. They were always very good to me. As all the Dallas family was, I thank you all for being such a positive part of my life. Thank you Lorraine
I/We became acquainted with Preston only a few years ago after he began attending Valleyview Mennonite Church. I found out very soon that he enjoyed my piano playing (and that of the other pianists too I’m sure). Always he would tell me how much he appreciated my playing. About a year ago I picked up Preston at home, took him to church on a weekday, set up a chair by the grand piano…and played just for him. He never forgot that day and I was hoping there would be additional opportunities. I learned that he loved Scottish tunes, among others. He told me too that his mothers played piano, and one of the tunes he remembered was “Turkey in the Straw.” And, yes, I played it for him. I am honoured to be providing piano music at the memorial service on Saturday. I will miss Preston. Marie and I send our condolences to all family members.
