Many are the fun times we had with Albert and Jean, our dear sister-in-law, Susan’s parents. They welcomed us to their home and backyard swimming pool on many a summer day. We have fond memories of spending time with them at Christmas’s past – can you believe over 42 years- other holidays and visits to Long Point. Albert was a true gentleman – sincere, polite, well-informed and always interested in our well-being and keen to discuss events that related to family and friends. A genuinely wonderful man! He will be missed by those who had the good fortune to know him.
So sorry to hear about Ab’s death. He was a special man who taught me from Grade 9 – 12 @ Beal. This was during the years 1966-1969. I enjoyed his teaching. He was a straight forward man and you could tell he cared. I learned a lot from him. I did see him a few times after graduation when he was a volunteer at the Fanshawe Pioneer Village in the London Free Press building. He will be missed.
Today I am remembering a wonderful father-in-law and grandfather.Albert was truly a moral and honourable man. He was honest, straight forward, “crafty” and fun!I always felt very welcomed and included in the family by Albert. Albert took genuine interest in whatever was going on in the lives of his children and grandchildren. He was a fun Granpda who became “one of the kids” when he was with his grandchildren. He had a way of giving a child his undivided attention that was magic. He was someone who really made a difference in the lives he touched and I am honoured to have been one of thos people.
My condolences to the Bell family. We were all neighbours many years ago on Saint James Street. So many children played and grew up together on this street. I also went to Beal when Mr. Bell was teaching there. With sincere sympathy, Janette
I was sorry to see the passing of Ab. He and I were at Beal from my arrival in 1968 until 1983. Always enjoyed his company and have fond memories of a gentle man. “Coached” Brian as he was a member of a successful curling team that first year at Beal. Seeing his photo in this posting I am also reminded of his dry wit. A gentleman and a pleasure to have known and worked with him. My Regards.
