I have known Percy & Barb since I was 12 years old when I became friends with Laurine through camp. I often spent the night at their home in my teen years & Percy always made me feel welcome, even with all the joking around he did. He was a great father & husband & I am so sorry he is gone. I know he was loved & will be missed.
I had the honour to serve with Percy Nelson in the Guards. A good friend and a great soldier. He was an example to us all.Stand easy soldier.
I had the good fortune to work with Percy on many election campaigns. He was one of the funniest, kindest and most considerate people I have ever known. My life is richer for having known and worked with Percy. My condolences to Barb and his family. Thanks for sharing Percy with us. He will never be forgotten.
I had worked with Percy and his use of humor and sarcasm left us all the richer. He had a talent to make a mundane occurrence humorous and then use it to make a point. My condolences to Barb and family

Barb; Bonnie and I were shocked to hear of Percy’s passing. I was watching that DVD just the other day of the two of us fishing in Cuba. A number of people were asking about him at the Chapter meeting today. Please if we can help in any way now or in the future please phone 519-681-3680 or email Bonnie or I. Lee and Derwyn are in Cuba right now. I sent them and email with the obit attached.
All of our love.

Barb and family – please accept our respectful condolences. Percy and I were members of 2nd Battalion, The Canadian Guards. Although we haven’t crossed paths in years I can remember Percy as an excellent Guardsman and friend. Take your rest Brother.
I met Percy in the fall of 1963, he was a senior soldier, I was a very junior one.For the following 8 years he was my mentor and friend.
I am very saddened at the news of his passing, My condolences to his family, take comfort in knowing that he is considered by many to have been a great soldier and a wonderful friend.
Rest in Peace.
Percy was a great guy and a good listener. I remember his handle bar moustache, and how neat he kept it. I had a hard time keeping my bear skin tidy and would ask him for pointers.
Our prayers are with you all.
Thank you everyone for your kind words. Mom lost a wonderful husband. Laurine and I lost a wonderful Dad. Your time to share your memories and thoughts will always be remembered.

I was fortunate enought to serve with Percy Nelson on several occasions. He was the epitome of the competent, hardwork, loyal individuals with whom the Regiment was blessed. It was a great privilege to serve with individual such as Percy, and I am certain that I join a host of his friends and compatriots, in offering condolences (and thanks for his life) to his family.

Condolence on your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
I met Percy last year during the Federal Campaign and had the pleasure of getting to know him a little bit and work with him through canvassing and campaigning. He had a great sense of humour and was a very kind individual. I wish I could have gotten to know him more. My deepest condolences to his family.
It’s hard to say something about Percy. He was a good husband, father and best friend to Barb. They were always doing something together but never far apart from each other. He will be sorely missed but not forgotten.
Uncle Percy is a kind man and I’m so very grateful I got to spend some time with him this past Sept in celebration of my parents wedding anniversary. I still have my Percy dog, given to me by my aunt & uncle when I was a baby. It was my favourite comfort and even though it no longer winds up, it holds a special place in my heart.
