Edward (Ted) Cecil – In his 92nd year, peacefully with family at his side at the London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Hospital London on October 18, 2012. Beloved husband of Gladys, and predeceased by Dorothy Ross Buck (1994) and sister Mildred Ottaway (2005), father of Pat (Warren), Ted (Glenda) and Susan, step-father of Michael, Lynda, Janice and Jacki. Loved grandfather of Melissa, Geoffrey, Sally, Andrea, Eric, Alex and Sarah, and great-grandfather of Lauren, Jackson, Liam, Michi, Eimi, Emma, Ben and Sabine. Ted joined the No.1 Detachment – Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps, Canadian Army in 1939, serving throughout WWII, in Korea from (1953-54) and in Vietnam with the International Control Commission (1965-1966).
Ted became involved in building and flying aircraft replicas in his teen years and over the past six decades built close to 100 model aircraft. He became a member of the Model Aeronautics Association of Canada (MAAC) in the early 1950’s, and was also a pioneer of London’s Forest City Flyers. In September 2012 he was awarded the MAAC Pioneer Award for more than 50-years of achievement.Cremation has taken place.Family and friends are invited to A Celebration of Ted’s life which will take place at London’s Wolseley Barracks Officers’ Mess, Sunday, November 4th. 2-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice, or Community Living London.

Pa Buck was a good grandfather and a good man. It was always a pleasure to be with him. We love him very much and will always remember his good character.
