Very sorry to hear of Terry’s passing. I worked with Terry for many years at AMDAHL on HURON and later ObjectStar. His code is still running daily at customer sites. Terry was a wonderful story teller and kept our attention with his many exploits. I remember his stories of the production line at a car plant in Britain with great delight. His investment advice was another source of amusement although I understand he improved in this area after retiring. His lunches were a source of wonder…always the same soup and bread mixture. His cars kept running long after their due date. Terry was a unique individual and he will be missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace Terry. Best wishes from your HURON friend, Earle.
What a sad news! Throughout the years (since 1994) I worked together with Terry, we spent countless hours talking about everything, including work. I have often since revisited in my mind those conversations full of Terry’s sharp intellect, sense of humour, irony, interest in all things human. I am happy I knew him and will remember him fondly. My heart-felt condolences to Elizabeth (we met once) and the rest of the family. Vladimir.
I am saddened to hear of Terry’s demise, I am sure he will be remembered fondly by all those whose paths he crossed.
I will.
Waldo, one of Terry’s many HURON colleagues.
It was with great sadness Deborah and I learned of Terry’s passing. We both have very fond memories working with Terry at Amdahl. We both extend our sincere condolences to his family and will remember him for a long time to come and be glad our paths cross with his. Deborah & Neil
Good bye uncle Terry. Say hello to my mother (your sister Pamela) for me.Did not really know you all that well but you will be surely missed by everyone. rest in peace. kevin and family x
So sad when I heard of this. While at AMDAHL it was a morning ritual for me to visit Terry in his office and he always managed to make me laugh. I always teased him about his supper time habits and his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs. I would walk in and say “So was last night fish-and-chips night” and he would laugh, or his Swiss Chalet nights and he would always order the hamburger and I would kid him about that, but he loved those hamburgers at Swiss Chalet.
It’s been many years since I last seen Terry, but he will always be the one I remember the most during my years at AMDAHL.
Rest in Peace my friend. Steve
I was very sorry to hear the news. I worked with Terry on the HURON project. He loved to talk about life in the County.
It was with great sadness I heard of the passing of our Uncle Terry, all I could think of was the pain the family will be going through right now, but hopefully they will find comfort in their memories they hold and one day begin to smile again. Atleast he won’t be alone….. Rest in peace Uncle Terry. X
