My deepest and sincerest condolences to my Grandpa, Bill. You are very much loved by all of your family and can lean on us for support anytime you need it. My best memory of Hilda was when I was younger, probably 6 or 7, I used to go over to her and my grandpa’s apartment and because she used to be a pilot it of course fascinated me. I would sit behind ‘her chair’ and play airplane. I can still hear her saying “Are you ready for take-off?” I also remember teaching her and my grandpa to sing wheels on the bus! Hilda was a beautiful person inside and out. May you rest in peace and never be forgotten. Lots of love forever and ever, Megan
My heartfelt sympathy to Bill and Hilda’s family. She was one of my mentors during my membership with the Maple Leaf Chapter and one of the most valuable members of the 99s in Canada. She was always supportive, game for any activity and a tireless worker and font of information. Her beaming smile will be missed by all who knew her.
My thoughts are with Hilda’s families, including her Ninety-Nines family – Hilda’s “sisters in the sky”. Because of her, we have the Maple Leaf Chapter 99s in London, and for almost 40 years, we have had the 99s Canadian Award in Aviation, due in large part to HIlda’s passion for mentoring other pilots. My life would not have been the same without the love and support of Hilda, one of my dearest “sisters”. Blue skies, Hilda. You will soar with us forever.
Great Grandma Hilda. I am so glad that I was able to meet you before you left us. Wish we were able to spend more time together. I love you Grandma Rest in Peace.
Dear Bill

We were very sorry to hear of the passing of Hilda whose son, Robert Pilgrim, predeceased his Mother a short time ago.
Though visiting was limited over the past several years, she was always in our thoughts.
Unfortunately, neither her Grandson nor I can attend the services, but our prayers are with her.

Bill, my deepest condolences to you and all your family. May you find comfort in knowing that the years you and Hilda spent together brought her much happiness. And it is wonderful to read how much joy her extended family must have also given her.
As a Charter member of the London 99’s I have many fond memories of times spent with Hilda. And like my “sister” 99’s, I will miss her wonderful smile and our reminiscing, but will always be thankful I was privileged to have known her and to have enjoyed so many good times with her. (Beautiful photo)
My thoughts and prayers are with you today Bill. Although I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting Hilda I can see by reading all the kind words from her family and friends that she will be deeply missed. God bless
I’m very sorry for your loss Bill. Robin sent condolences for us all but please know that my thoughts are with you and your family at this time. God Bless.
On behalf of the First Canadian Chapter of the Ninety-Nines I would like to extend our sympathy to the Mickle Family. Our thoughts are with you in this time of loss.

My thoughts are with you today, Bill. I have known Hilda since 1973 when she introduced herself to me at the London Flying Club and invited me to a meeting of lady pilots, the Ninety-Nines. We shared a love of flying and getting things done – both as members of the Ninety-Nines and later on the executive Board for the London Flying Club. Good memories, fun times with a great lady. Safe journey, good friend.
