WHITMAN, Ardyth Anne (Stewart)…Peacefully at University Hospital, London, on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, Ardyth Whitman in her 81st year. Beloved wife of Dr. Clyde S. Whitman for 57 years. Dear mother of Karen Hoke of San Francisco, Reford Whitman and his wife Anne of Kelowna, BC and Scott Whitman of London. Loved grandmother of 6 grandchildren. Also survived by her daughter-in-law Dana Whitman. Predeceased by her son Dr. Stewart Whitman of Ottawa and her brother Sutherland Stewart (Heather). Ardyth was an R.N. and a graduate of the Montreal General Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1953. She was recognized for her expertise in interior design and a gracious host. She was an ardent bridge player and was known to be involved in eight bridge clubs over many years. Cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Burial will be at St. Annes Anglican Church Cemetery. At the request of the deceased there will be no funeral home visitation or service. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 150 – 633 Colborne Street, London, ON N6B 2V3, St. Anne’s Anglican Church (Byron), 1344 Commissioners Road West, London, ON N6K 1E1 or London Humane Society, 624 Clarke Road, London, ON N5V 3K5 would be appreciated. Dear Clyde and family, I was so sad to hear of Ardyth’s passing. I had so many wonderful times with her over the years. She treated everyone with such kindness, always helping when she could. I will hold my memories close to my heart and will be thinking of you in the days to come. Love Maureen
