PARKER, Wayne….
At Victoria Hospital, London, on Tuesday, November 8, 2011, Wayne Parker in his 68th year. Beloved husband of Rosanna (Fleming) Parker. Proud father of Doug Parker and his wife Sherry of Barrie and Donna Parker of London. Cherished grandfather of Morgan, Mason and Xander. Dear brother of Wendy Parker and brother-in-law of Theresa Fleming and Mary Fleming (Dave). Predeceased by his parents Faye and Douglas Parker. A Lions Service will be conducted at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 12:45pm; visitation will follow from 1-2pm, with the funeral service beginning at 2pm. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Lambeth Lion’s Memory Box Program, 7026 Diane Crescent, London ON N6P 1G2 or the charity of your choice. Things I Remember Doing with my Dad
Age 5 (or so)
– “Reading” the newspaper with him
– Dad doing lots of work to fix up our first house
Age 10 (or so)
– Working at the camp with my Dad and my Grandpa
– Driving to Florida with my family listening for hours to whatever I was excited about at the moment
Age 15 (or so)
– During a school strike, Dad arranged for me to be able to work on inventory and warranty paperwork at the car dealership where he worked
– Needed a ride home from a party and knew it was OK to call home for help
– Being taught how to do the bodywork on my first car
Age 20 (or so)
– When I needed to move every 4 months between school and work terms at UW, Dad kept showing up with a truck
– When I was first home again after turning 19, Dad took me out to buy me a beer
Age 25 (or so)
– Mom and Dad helped out for Sherry and I’s wedding
We had a long time together – long neough to watch both versions of Hawaii Five-O…
My Dad showed me how to be a son, a husband and a father.
Important Things I Learned from my Dad
– Hard work is good for you
– Find someone you can share your life with
– Take care of your family
– If you can do something for someone and it won’t cause you a lot of trouble, you should do it
– And of course, cars should be maintained well…
“I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” ~Maya Angelou I know my Dad felt many things about me over our lives together: love, annoyance, exasperation, pride, gratitude, but the one that stays with me is love, I always knew he loved me just as I love him. My Dad made everyone feel good and everyone liked him. He was funny, smart, quirky, kind, and loving. I remember as a child not wanting to share my Dad, but at some point I realized no matter how many people he talked to, hugged, loved, laughed with, etc., I was always his baby girl and had a special place in his heart. His heart was so large it fit everyone into it. He was a wonderful and caring Dad, Husband, Grandpa, Brother, Friend, Uncle, Cousin, Lion and more. Those who touch our hearts stay in them forever. My Dad is in my heart – in a big comfy chair, eating his favourite pasta with lots of garlic bread, watching The Speed Channel. And he’s smiling. I will love you all the days of my life Dad; I carry you with me always.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time. Special memories of Wayne will bring you comfort in the days to follow.
He is now not suffering and at peace in the hands of our Lord

I just read your beautiful tributes too your husband and father. He would have been so proud of you all. I can see him smiling over the comment about the car. Memories like that will always keep him alive in our hearts. Peace be with you all.
