Dear Sandy, Ian and family. Words are very hard to find at times like these, but words about how much Wayne loved you all are not. Wayne was well liked and loved by many of us and his passing will be felt by many for years to come. I am so glad he got to see Alaska, his dream and that you were able to share that together. Please know his Spirit is alive with our Heavenly Father and he will continue to watch and care for you from above. May your Spirit find comfort in the thoughts and prayers of those who care about you. We are all here for you and Ian and Donna. love Ronalee
I offer my condelences, I knew Wayne as a bus driver for many years and it was only a visit to Nilestown lodge that I found that he was a fellow mason. I have enjoyed working with him and also attending the various lodge functions this year. Very surprized at his death but happy he did get to go on his trip to Alaska-I know he was ancious to go on that trip after his retirement in March.
All the best to his wife and family.

My sincere condolences on the passing of Sgt (ret) Wayne Sershall. I have nothing but very fond memories of Wayne from our days in the 48th Highlanders of Canada. Wayne was one of the instructors on my recruit course and later we served together as Senior NCOs in the Regiment. Calm and always smiling, Wayne was a friend and comrade who was missed when he left the Unit. I was always glad to see him in later years at functions when he would return to his Regiment. His old comrades still remember him fondly and we were very saddened to hear of his passing. A fellow Highlander; a good soldier; and an old friend who is not forgotten.
DILEAS GU BRATH Sgt Sershall.
Sergeant Wayne Shershall of the 48th Highlanders of Canada was a quite, well respected Sr NCO. His leadership abilities came to the front early in his career as was evident when he was employed as a Private, to instruct on my recruit course in 1963. Later in our careers I enjoyed our time together as Sr NCOs. Wayne was always there when needed, was a steadfast soldier. Once he retired I enjoyed the reunions and other social events with Wayne and his father who was a World War 11 vet with the regiment. DILEAS GU BRATH -Faithful Forever old friend. Captain (retired)Vic Goldman

Wayne was a friend a fellow Senior NCO and a mentor to myself.I am saddened to hear of his passing. DILEAS.
I have very good memories of soldiering with Wayne, or `Sersh`as we came to know him, during the mid 1960s. He was one of my first NCO instructors on the 1964 Student Militia Recruit course. Later on we were Cpls and then Sgts together and I always valued the quiet, thoughtful advice and guidance he provided, both as a leader and as a fellow NCO. It was always great to see and talk with him at Regimental reunions in the years subsequent to his period of active service.
Farewell Sersh. We will remember you. Dileas –
Steve Gilbert, Capt (Ret)
