Originally of Thunder Bay, Amerigo and his wife Lucy moved to London, Ontario in 1992. To his family and many friends, Amerigo was affectionately known by his nickname “Smergs”. Born in Fort William, Amerigo married Lucy Colosimo in 1944 and for several years ran his own Confectionary and Billiard Hall on McTavish Street before converting the business space in to an apartment for his parents Rosina and Giuseppe Zuliani who lived there for 17 years. He later worked as a milkman for Kellogg’s Dairy and prior to his retirement worked at Breeny’s Auto Body Shop. While in Thunder Bay, Smergs served as an active member of the Principe Di Piemonte Society, the East End Athletic Association and the Worker’s Co-operative of Consumers Grocery Store. He lived life simply, ready to extend a helping hand to family and friends and his fatherly devotion and love will be deeply missed by his son. He is predeceased by his parents Rosina and Giuseppe Zuliani, Lucy, his wife of 62 years, brother Brini Zuliani and sister Inez Trevisanutto. The Campaner family.
We lived at 618 Mc Tavish Street so we were neighbours to the Colosimos. In fact I run into Jimmy and Honey all the time.
You have done well and I remember you as a child.
