Dear Karen,
I am writing to express our sympathy to you on the loss of your mother. We saw the beautiful picture of your mother, and the lovely account of her life and notice of her death in the London paper.
Our friendship goes back a long way Karen – as long-time neighbours on Oakridge Drive, and as friends at Hutton Road school and on our walks to and from school up “the path”. We always think of the house at the end of the path as “Blachford`s”, and I recall your mother as a calm, careful, steady and loving presence there. I know your family ties are strong too because I remember happy visits to your grandmother`s home with you and your mother.
My father (Jack) died many years ago, but my mother (Betty) still lives in our family home on Oakridge, and my sister (Jayne), brother (John) and I live close-by. We cannot be at the visitation or funeral this week so I am writing on behalf of us all to say we are thinking of you, Trevor and the family.
I think I saw you at a school reunion a while ago and knew that you were married and living in Perth, Australia. This will have been a difficult trip home for you.
With our love and sympathy to you and the family,
“the Henderson`s” (Betty, Jayne, John and Norah)
