MCKEE, William Samuel James….Bill passed away after a brief illness in the arms of his wife and high school sweetheart Alice (Deeley), their much loved granddaughter Annie by their side. Bill would have celebrated his 87th birthday on December 20th. Dear father of William F. McKee and Mary Anne Chamberlaine and her partner Don Chamberlaine all of London. His plane was shot down and crashed near the small village of St. Hippolyte, in Alsace Lorraine. The pilot Jimmy Watson was killed in the crash. Bill and Alice returned to St. Hippolyte in recent years. When he returned to civilian life he went to work for Bell Canada where he served for 41 years. Bill and Alice were blessed with 68 years of happiness together as well as the joy of loving, and being loved by two children, three grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Dear Alice..We are sad to read of Bill’s passing and want you to know that I admired and enjoyed working with him at Bell. Our condolences to you and your family..Jim (and Nancy) Bringloe
Hello, we do not know each other but I am writing to you in regards of the loss of your dear family member, William McKee. I saw your obituary in the classifieds and I would like to send my deepest sympathy. It seems so unfair that death should have the power to take away someone you love and it can be most difficult to bear.
The Bible, however, holds out a wonderful hope. The Scriptures indicate that it is possible to be reunited with your dead loved one in the near future right here on earth – Psalms 37:11. Although this is a time of sadness, I would like to direct you to some encouraging and comforting information that can be shared amongst you and your family. A sample of it is contained in the online brochure “When Someone You Love Dies” found at:

Edie and I would like to offer our condolences to Bill,s family. Bill and Alice were friends of my Dad, Ken Ewer through the years. Annie is our Daughter-in-law and has our sympathy as well.
Dear Alice and “Young” Bill:
It was fortunate that I was able to see Bill recently. His smile, warmth and quiet dignity were as I remembered
him over the years when our paths crossed. Both Judy and I know that you will have wonderful memories in the years ahead to sustain you.

We are so very to hear of Bills’ passing. In the short time we knew him we grew very fond of him. After reading the newspaper article of Bills’ experience in the war made us feel honoured that we knew a real life war hero. Just knowing Bill and Alice made our short stay in London that much easier. Seeing a friendly face every day made us a bit less homesick. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Alice and the family. I met Bill about !947 0r 1928 after he arrived back from everseas. He was at my uncles cotttage around Bracebridge if I can remember. My uncle,Leo Campbell worked for Bell Telephone and introduced me to Bill. He was a friend of the Dealey family. Alice Dealy was a good looking girl. I still remember Bill as a gentleman and a very quiet person with a great personality. John Campbell
