Helen E. Roedding

Roedding, Helen Elizabeth…..Helen Roedding, age 90 passed away peacefully with family by her side, at University Hospital London on Friday, October 1, 2010. She was born in Stratford, daughter of the late Percy and Vera Schmidt. Beloved wife of the late Edwin Roedding whom she married in 1950. Dear sister of Robert Schmidt, Stratford. Loved by several nieces and nephews and their families. Fondly remembered by many special friends. Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her parents-in-law Milton and Mary Roedding, a sister Marion Gould, a brother-in-law William D. Gould and sister-in-law Lois Schmidt. Helen grew up in Sebringville, attending USS #2 public school, and SCVI High school, Stratford. In her younger years, she loved playing the piano and was active in Emmanuel United Church Sebringville in the church choir, playing piano for Mission Band and Young People. Long time resident of London, the Oakridge community and lately, Elmwood Retirement Home. She was a member of Riverside United Church where she sang in the choir for many years. Helen was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and later with Women’s Canadian Club, London. Friends and family will be received at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout St S, London on Thursday, October 7 2010 from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral at 2 p.m. with Reverend Phil Newman officiating. Interment in Woodland Cemetery.
