Dear Anna and Iris,
I was very sad to hear the sad news about your Mum.
She was an amazing woman; I feel honored and privileged to have known her.
I have wonderful memories of her, her great courage, genuine warmth and delightful sense of humor.
I hope your memories of your time with her will help you in this very difficult time in your lives.
My deepest condolences to you both and your entire family.
With love, always,
Ana
Hi Iris,
I trust that you remember me; we took Latin together at Oakridge Secondary School, class of ’73. Was sorry to read about your mum’s passing, and felt compelled to write, as I know the pain of having lost both parents. I still feel a bond with my former classmates, and many of us have now crossed this milestone.
I’m sure that your mum was very proud of you, and that you were a loving daughter.
Take care,
Maria van der Velden
A flood of memories came to mind to-day as I read of your mother’s passing.
We worked together at the London Life in the mid 1950’s. Many miles and years have separated us, but I still recall the emotional stories that she told of her family’s experiences during W.W.2 and of leaving behind her father, as she and her mother: made their way to freedom….and eventually to Canada.
She worked at the desk beside me and I looked on her as a great mentor.
I feel so priviledged to have met her and my prayer thoughts are with you as you celebrate her life.
Sincerely,
Helen Clark
I was very sorry to hear of your mothers passing. We worked together at London Life from the late 60’s until she retired, just before I did.
We also went to New York together on an opera trip in the 80’s. She really loved her opera.
She was always very proud of her family and I am sure you will miss her very much, as will everyone who knew her.
